Best Knights ever

Although I've only supported the knights since '05 and even then I've only really got behind them / regularly attending home games since '09 I'll go...
1. O'Davis
2. Vuna was good I don't know if he deserves a mention here but he was a very underrated player and I think he and Uate were ranked as 6th best wing combination and the best one to be seen since Tquiri and Sailor at the broncs but anyway probably getting a bit off track I'll go 2. Albert
3. Matt gidley
4. Adam macdougall
5. Uate
6. Matt Johns (haven't seen much of him play)
7. Joey (of course)
8. Harrigon
9. Bedsy
10. Butterfed
11. Simmo
12. Peden
13. Kennedy
14 kurt gidley
15. Timana Tahu
16. Parsons
17. Muir
Coach: Michael Hagan

I haven't watched the Knights for very long so i can't really make a team from 1988, but out of the guys i did see play, this would probably be one of the best sides

2. Akuila Uate
3. Timana Tahu
4. Adam MacDougall
5. Cooper Vuna of 2010
6. Jarrod Mullen
7. Andrew Johns
8. Richie Fa'aoso
9. Danny Buderus
10. Willie Mason
11. Chris Houston of 2009
12. Zeb Taia
13. Matt Hilder

14. Darius Boyd
15. Joel Edwards of 2010-11
16. Dane Gagai
17. Alex McKinnon

McManus & Goisy are pretty unlucky.

And i'm sure Jezza will easily walk into my team by the end of 2013.

Matt Johns is incredibly over rated.
He got to play his whole career with us with a halfback who made him look really good, but Warren Ryan sacked him after he went a whole season without making a line break behind our strongest ever forward pack and with Joey trying to set him up as much as possible. A guy named Sean Rudder stepped into his spot and you could hardly tell the difference.

Matthew Johns was a great player! He tore up in first grade before Andrew Johns was there ... He made the Australian side in 1999 pushing Fittler to lock ... He wasn't at his best in 2000, but I don't see why that tarnishes all the other good things he did for us.

His standalone career wouldn't have been as impressive as Hagan's or Mullen's, or even Kurt Gidley's in the 6. He just get reflected glory as the the offsider to a great halfback.

What an absolute load of CRAP....

You saying Mullen is a better 5/8 then Matt Johns?

Don't understand the Matty Johns hate (as a player). He ran the side in Andrew's first few years in first grade, made a lot of rep teams in that time. He was talked up as a potential Kangaroo tourist in 1994 when Johns was just debuting.

It's a bit of a no-brainer, I'm sorry to say. He was a quality player.

MacDougall and Peden should be two of the first players picked. Albert was good but was very injury prone. MacDougall at his best was a much, much better footballer. I'd have Peden starting ahead of Muir.
I picked Maddog in my side but really if anyone was injury prone it was doogs as he only averaged about 13 games a season ....it would have been nice to have him there 20 or more games a season with his impact.

You only have to look at this blokes greatest ever team to see this bloke has no idea. And then he continues with the dribble. Well done!

Sometimes you get stupid statements on here by people probably guilty of it myself once or twice but Billy is the only 1 that seems to do it consistantly .

Come on guys, there's no need for this rubbish. Everyone is entitled to an opinion on here without having to put up with this crap.

First and last warning.

This is a hard one, I've put together a first grade team and a reserves team of the guys who just missed out. Started watching the Knights in about 2000, but even then I was only 6, so it might be influenced by the players I've seen live vs on video etc.

Wouldn't mind seeing a game between these two actually...

Lee Jackson came to the Knights as a current English International, but he wouldn't give the ball to Johns when he called for it and there was one game where Johns actually called out to the coach to take him off. He was little more than a poor bench option at the Knights, and only made the bench because Mal Reily loved him.
