Origin 3

First half: Creagh slips over whilst hitting it up, hit high, nothing called, just a 20cm gash on his head.

Second half: Cronk slips, hit high, called a penalty.

That easily changed the whole game.

seems only 1 team is allowed to play dirty. did Nate Myles dive head first into Farrah's face? And if so, is that allowed?
I'm not really fond of the Qld get a free punch rule either

Had a laugh at the article on Taylor giving the finger. QRL officials say Meninga coaches for all players to have respect for their opponents, and yet Tate had no problem throwing punches minutes into the game.

It wasn't just the punches from Tate, it was that it was at the head of a player who was defenceless on the ground.

One of the most scummy things I've ever seen on a football field. Apparently not even worthy of a week's suspension, though.

If Tate and Gallen were 1 on 1 in a fight, Tate wouldn't throw anything at Gallen. It is a shame because I respected him as a player.

I dont know why everyone is complaining about the Hodges try ??? There was NO WAY that was a obstuction and deffinitly was a try,

I honestly thought that the general play of the game was pretty boring. The play the balls were terribly slow, and the play was predictable. It was a good game for the drama, the physicality and the closeness of the game, but the standard wasn't really that good IMO, and a number of others in the pub I was in said the same thing. I guess hearing the commentators and whatnot rave on about every Origin game like it's the second coming makes us believe it.

Pretty disappointing at the time to lose like that, as soon as it went fulltime I wished it had've been a 40 point win rather than 1 point, but unlike Knights losses, NSW losses are quickly forgotten by me, I don't feel much disappointment at all now.

I thought it was pretty slow, they let way to much slide in the play the balls, took an eternity for them to get off every tackle.

NSW had their chances to win, poor reffereeing didn't help their case one bit but no excuses. Everyone in NSW whinges about Uate running off his wing once or twice to lead to Boyd tries. Hayne does it and nobody complains. Pretty obvious that it's not entirely the individual players fault, that whole right side defence has issues.

NSW doesn't have a creative or skilled no 7.How long does this bloke keep getting picked on the family name. Its ridiculous.Put Carney at half and just tell him to enjoy it and play football.

Been saying it for years.

Pearce is ****ing hopeless, serious now that Ricky is gone they might pick someone with vision. Kicking out on the full and simply letting thurston run around you is not what the QLD halves do. The Shepard, the late hits, the high hits, the slow play the balls the refs were terrible. NSW got some calls in second half but the 50/50's were at least 70/30 to QLD.

NSW should never play another game in melbourne its stupid, QLD look like easily getting 10+

Yep Pearce is rubbish, always will be. The NSW side is just a big popularity contest anyway, hence young Mitchell's selection after years of mediocrity. He had a lucky 6 month run where all he did was ride Carney's coat tail's to greatness. Todd leaves and he is nowhere to be found.

Thought it was **** funny watching Hodges act like the big dog thinking he could go toe to toe with Greg Bird!! Just goes to show QLD are a weak bunch having to hold NSW players down whilst the others gang up!

What were your thoughts on the decision to penalise NSW forward Tim Grant after it appeared Queensland winger Brent Tate had thrown a punch? The initial incident was a high shot from Tim Grant on Brent Tate. That is where the matter started and that is why the penalty went against NSW.

Bill Harrigan trying to defend his referees, enough said.

If thats where it started, there have been countless other incidents in origin where a minor indescretion has led to an all in brawl.

Steve Price kneeing Brett White in the Head, then getting KO'd. QLD got the penalty.
Greg Inglis holding onto Beau Scotts arm while It marking, not letting go as Scott tried to get away. QLD got the penalty.
Numerous dog shots on Kurt Gidley while defenseless on the ground, NSW come in to defend their man. QLD got the penalty.

So much for foul play over-riding any minor descretions.

I'd love to see the statistics showing all the all in brawls in origin over the last few years (there has been plenty) to see how many times NSW have been awarded a penalty. I'd say it'd be on very few occasions.

Cameron Smith is the player that gets my goat!! he is always involved in any incident, smiling and mouthing off, getting people worked up!! I would seriously like to see someone knock his block off!!

What abaout when B.Morris scored, and Thaiday wouldn't let go, and I think Gallen? kept trying to pull him off and then Smith got in and starts pushing Gallen around for trying to get to his man

Bird should have stayed down and pretended to be seriously knocked out - Tate would have gotten his matching orders going by the Price-Waterhouse incident. (Not Price Waterhouse Coopers).

The play the ball was really slow, especially early. That's where the refs need to blow some penalties early and take control of the game, like they used to 5-10 years ago.

It wasn't the most exciting game until the final 20 because of that.
