Here is a quote in the DT.

'Willie Mason may not be the only forward on the Knights' radar. We keep hearing that Greg Bird, a Newcastle boy is being linked to the club. The Knights have so far downplayed the suggestion, but the mail is that Bird could be brought to the club and used in the pack'

I think Bird is a great target but I'm sure he only just re-signed for next year.

Matt Gidley was on a 'working holiday' on the Gold Coast the other day too.
 
He is destined to be linked to us every year since he's a Newy boy but these days we have more power on the market so who knows? Houston & Taia might wanna step up a bit soon, their job's are under serious threat at the moment.

I would be very happy with Bird, he's a real leader on the field too now & a great bloke. Not the same dude that glassed his girl i'm sure.

Ironic that Houston gets a mention in the Bird watching thread because you have more chance of seeing a Do Do bird than seeing Houston offload.

I think houston and taia have been impressive but with the Scott signing it dosn't look like Taia will be kept. I'd much rather us sign a big meter eating prop than Bird.
 
So if Bird was likely to come to the club, which I doubt it because I don't know how much space is left available, would we see something like this perhaps?

Would love to see Bird hear but I hope its not at the cost of Taia. He has been great the last few weeks imo
 
Great lets get more second rowers cause that's exactly where we are really lacking, lucky we have heaps of front rowers so don't bother saving some cap to sign any.
 
A friend of Bird's told me he is coming here, still negotiating of course... but its pretty much a done deal... Not a fan to be honest

its not the fact that were "Lacking 2nd rowers" or not its more the fact were lacking the aggression in the forward pack which is what Bird brings
 
That would mean Hilder went from Players Player of the Year twice to sparingly used bench player to goooone under the Coaching of Bennett. Hilder would fit very nicely into a Storm jumper and thrive under the Coaching of Bellamy. If I was Hilder I'd start shopping myself around as it's quite obvious Bennett isn't a fan.
 
I'd rather have Bird than Beau Scott, but seeing as we've signed Scott already, then I don't see any reason to sign Bird.
 
As much as I like Hilder, I'd rather keep Zeb & Houso over him to be honest. But I can't see us signing Bird anyway.
 
I think Hilder has been caught out a bit with the higher standard we are playing.

Willie may resign for next year, but we need another big prop with mongrel

Hilder Taia Tuimavave are the ones with biggest contract worries

Someone tell Tinkler Bennett we need a young 195cm 115kg Prop to go with Bird and Scott

Love to see Greg bird here, always suspected he would come home he's a proud maitland boy and mentions it whenever he can, also he always replies straight away on twitter when hes linked to another club denying it, but never answers when asked about the knights.... Come home birdy!!!
