Confirmed: Knights sign Mason for 2012 season

I'll reserve judgement until he plays some games, but I don't have high hopes. He wasn't that great when he last played in the NRL, and that was a few years ago now. The game has changed a lot and he's gotten older.

Hopefully I get proven wrong though, and he really puts in and plays well.

He finished with the cowboys 19 months ago and I thought he went well!
 
A Club's disciplinary code is really a joke surely. Obviously depends on how desperate a Club is to retain or sign someone. I mean I've highlighted Mason's chequered past but given the fact that our Captain Kurt Gidley(and others including Mark Hughes) was fined for his part in the alleged incident at Bathurst Mason was never going to be turned away for indiscretions off the field. Shame with our lack of size up front Dane Tilse wasn't afforded the same luxury.
 
Willie and Rodney get to play together for the first and possibly the last time - I expect Rodney to have a blinder.

Exactly! I don't know why everyone is sayin he'll be our saviour. I reckon he'll just be another forward being pushed back. It's not like he's been playing good footy in the nrl in recent times, he's been training in a park. Hate to say it but I think this will be just another big dissapointment like cuthbertson.
 
On the Herald site earlier today people in the comments were threatening to 'hand back their tickets.'

I look forward to hearing the follow-up to their personal quests for...who knows what exactly.

Hate fickle people like that - To me the club and what it entails is above and beyond any player or issue. Guess some people only know how to throw tantrums and arent really following the game to realise Willie has the potential to fix the problem up front we currently have. I'll reserve any judgement of Willie till he runs onto the park and shows us what he may be able to offer.

These people are ****ers and not true fans, they claim to be true supporters and loyal Novocastrians but the second something happens that they don't agree with they bail, the worst part of this is that there are alot of these people out there.
We used to have have the most loyal fan base out there, now we aren't in the top 5.

And theres also the fact the majority of the Herald commenters are probably either trolls/jets fans/generally anti-knights.
 
Yeh, the majority of the comments would be just to stir controversy.

Not sure on the credibility of the Herald as I dont live up there, but I wouldnt put is past some of the media companies putting in 'fake' comments to just try and stir up controversy.
 
The past is the past as long as he plays good football I don't care, whether its a good decision or not we'll have to wait till the end of the season.

It's not just the Herald website, it's the same on the Knights Facebook page, there are a heap of these douchers out there.

Almost everyone on here is taking it very well, I'm surprised! I spose we are the hardcore though haha.
