It has been 'certain' for a while now, but hey as long as he hasn't signed a contract he isn't ours! Would love him to come though.

PLus if your talking about Ashley graham, you would think with signing Boyd, tahu and re-signing Sau, Wes, Kev and Mata'utia along with possibly McKninnon they wouldnt be any more signings in the backs
 
I agree. We definately don't need Ash Graham. Why waste the money on him?

Jake Friend however would be a great signing IMO. We need a hooker as I don't see Bennett moving Gidley there, and Friend is a good young one.

Don't see him being in the papers for the wrong reasons under Bennett either.
 
As much as I don't like Friend I've always rated him. His workload and defence is probably the best out of every other dummy-half, he just has to work on giving less penalties away and missing less tackles (even though he's leading the hooker's tackle count) and of course getting his off-field life sorted. Wouldn't be a bad pick up if we miss out on Buderus, Bennett will get him fine tuned if he really wants him at the knights

As for Ash Graham... LOL
 
Tbh I'd rather we signed Friend then Buderus.

Buderus is an absolute legend and I love the bloke to death and I'm sure he can still get it done and play some good footy in the NRL next season, but Buderus probably only has one season left where as Friend is a good young hooker on the rise who we could sign for 3 or 4 seasons and have him while he's at his peak. Buderus would simply be a band aid.

Getting Buderus released from Leeds seems like an uphill battle too, and if we're having to pay upwards of $300k+ or whatever it costs to sign Buderus, along with an additional $200k+ transfer fee, that's a lot of coin and I'm not really sure if it's worth it.

And i doubt we need a hooker signed for any more 1-2 years. Personally i dont think we need either, but thats based off a Gidley-Hilder/junior hooker combo being used.

And we have like 5 or 6 talented hookers ranging from SG ball to NSW Cup that will could/can/will make the transition to FG. I would much rather playing one of them at hooker then losing them to having team becuae we imported the position.

If we signed Friend he would hands down be the best hooker we have. As a matter of fact he'd be the only TRUE hooker we have.

Gidley isn't a hooker even though I think he'd make a great one, and Hilder is as much a lock as he is a hooker.

I don't like the idea of going into next season with the only two options at hooker being Hilder and Gidley, as IMO Bennett won't shift Gidley to hooker and Hilder is better off at lock.

I'd be over the moon if we signed Friend.

Friend would be an upgrade from De Gois. But a big no to Ash Graham.

Friend is very underated IMO but as mentioned, not someone I can see Bennett wanting anything to do with. Ash Graham is a great clubman and handy player. However, we've got plenty of backs already so I think it's simply a myth too.

A signing I can confirm:

IIRC Bennett chased Friend the last time he was off contract. But just remember Twitter rumours are normally just BS.
