Wes Naiqama re-signs with Knights for 3 more seasons

I can't believe anyone seriously thinks Tahu will play a full season. If he does the World will end as predicted by the Mayans.

I thought the dragons had the Stanley brothers to replace Boyd (didn't they re-sign Chase from Melbourne for that exact reason?). I think Wes needs to be careful he doesn't just relocate to be depth at the Dragons too. Good luck to him either way though.

He's been guaranteed the fullback position. They wouldn't just lie to him, that would not go down well. Nightingale was originally thought to take the fullback position & Kyle Stanley was mentioned also but it appears both of them will stay at their current positions, wing & bench. Chase was signed by the Dragons also but he doesn't play fullback, he'd be as a depth player i'd imagine.

If i was wes id head to england, he would get a great paycheck with the form he is in! If I had a say id have him over Sau.

lol everyone hyped K.Naiqama up, he had a decent debut against Melb, and now no one likes him. Sounds like the Knights way to me.

Was a great player in his NYC years. Always had the line-finding abilities, speed, agility, fending & all the other things. Very good in his NRL debut, just has struggled to stay consistent in a comp where he's facing men each week. He'll get there, after a year of NSW Cup, hopefully injury free, he'll be ready for NRL week in week out.

Yeah I think Kev is only in his 2nd year of reserves, cause I remember him scoring a heap of tries in rd 26 against Penrith in the NYC in 09.
Anyway Wes would likely be looking at a bench spot if things go as planned, and if they don't he might find himself starting heh. With Wes from what I have observed, he's always been his best when starting in the backline at either centre or fullback (a few times on the Wing like he did when he played for the Dragons though he was probably smaller back then). That's the case this year and it's also the case in 08 when Smith was here and always started him at Centre or Fullback when there were injuries or Origin. He's a better player now, though he didn't do much wrong then.
Last year he was always mixed around and played and didn't played, and couldn't quite find his feet. He was ok though.
Anyway with all this in mind I think he would be in better form if he played fullback for the Dragons week in week out.

I would be happy if we re-signed him but i wouldn't be devastated if we lost him. He would be great for depth especially during origin but isn't indispensable IMO.

I just read the Knights have made it clear that Wes in a priority re-signing. He must feel so loved

at the moment how many centres in the comp are out playing wes not many i would say i would prefer him to tahu too

Pretty hypocritical don't you think? Over in the Bird thread you pretty much bagged out Bird for his off field in discretions yet you prefer to re-sign Wes who has history himself.

Wes is a priority? ok...don't see it myself but I guess that's why I'm not the man in charge of recruitment/ retention...

Well when the others off-contract are Ciraldo, Lulia (were), Southern etc you can see why he is more of a priority ;)
If there are any juniors like Stig off-contract I'd rather they be re-signed first, but they will be on less and may or may not be in the 25 cap, just 2nd tier, so not as high a priority. But pretty happy with the retention anyway so far.
