Uate wins Dally M winger of the year

I hope Gordon doesn't get ruled out of contention just because he has played fb this past month, he has been great all year, and only due to Coote being injured, he has been forced to play fb.

I really think Vatuvei is going to get it. He's scored 19 tries from 17 games, made 96 hit ups, 15 line breaks, 34 offloads, 29 errors, and 223 runs for 2148 metres or 9.63 metres per run.

Compared to Uates 21 tries from 23 games, 53 hit ups, 29 line breaks, 11 offloads, 39 errors, and 323 runs for 3347 or 10.36 metres per run.

Uate runs abit more per run, and has way more line breaks, but Vatuvei makes more hit ups and offloads, plus a better scoring strike rate.

Only thing that will let Vatuvei down will be his 6 games out injured, but will be boosted by the fact he's in better form at the end of the season.

Although Uate has been good lately, he hasn't been showed off as much as early on in the season, having only scored 1 try in his last 5 games.
 
And one wonders if Morris gets the nod if anyone actually watched his extreme sub-par performances in the State of Origin?

That means Uate at one stage had 20 tries in 17 games. If he kept that strike rate up he would have blown away the competition. A lot of people on this forum are blaming Maddog for Uate's lack of tries, but it's probably also due to the other teams working harder to shut Uate down during the last month.
 
Well Im obviously hoping for Vatuvei to take the overall try scoring record but I have to say I have really been impressed with Uate this season. If anyone was to beat Manu this year Id hope it would be Uate. He is a real strike weapon and valuable asset. Pity the knights couldnt pull off a finals berth and give Uate a chance to claim the title of best winger out right but I look forward to seeing what the knights will bring next season!

The Dally M's are tomorrow night, so finals have nothing to do with being the winger of the year.
 
Im not talking Dally M or winger of the year. Im meaning outright top scorer. Yes Dally Ms is most definitely an honour but Im talking about squashing any argument of other wingers by finishing all of 2010 as top scorer. As mentioned by others he has finished the regular season as the highest scorer but 2010 is not over yet and if Gordon, Morris or Vatuvei have blinders in the finals they will be the 2010 overall top try scorer. Just saying it wouldve been awesome to watch Uate take his tally even further and really put a full stop on the end of his impressive record for 2010

That's the only one of his from this year on youtube - very spectacular if you ask me, an extremely difficult thing to do at pace.

But hey, Uate is the reincarnation of Jesus, there's no other player better than him in the world ever, and if he ever doesn't score five tries in a game it's every other players fault that they didn't pass to him.

He was 20 in 19 games. And I think a big factor in Uate not scoring as frequently over the last month was the return of Cooper Vuna (who scored about 6 or 7 tries in the final 4 games), meaning the knights had great attacking options on both sides of the field. Mullen is left footed, so his banana kicks are more suited to Vuna's side.
 
Vuna had 8 tries in 4 games, not including yesterday which imo doesn't count:P

Vatuvei has had some great tries this year, aswell as some good runs from in his half like Vuna and Uate do. The 3 against us weren't great, but he has still had some brilliant tries. Nothing beats Uates try off the kick off from Paterson against the roosters though.

What I was meant to say was Vatuvei's trys are good but the amount of skill don't compare to Uncle. :)

And yes I have watched Vatuvei this season, most of his trys are catching the ball and barging over an opposition winger half his size.
 
Yes but catching and bargnig the over a winger is still considered a 'skill'...because not many other players could do that.
