Hey guys/Gals

Read in today's telegraph that Buderus wants to play two years in the NRL, and he will be returning but not for Newcastle... Have to wait and see what happens but will be very hard to watch him in another jersey playing against us that's for sure!!

What!?!

Why is Buderus playing for another club, when his heart lies with the Knights? :(

Do you have a link? I hope this is not true, it would look so weird seeing Bedsy playing against the Knights.

I can..

Buderus >>>>>>>>>(times 10) De Gois.

Simple, sign Buderus, drop to NSW Cup or release De Gois or Hilder (which ever one is playing more inconsistent and isnt as effective for the club)

I wonder if he doesnt wanna return to the knights, or if they dont want him....provided this is true.

You're crazy if you want De Gois released. He is easily better then Buderus atm. Might sound harsh here but what did Buderus ever do in the Super League? Not much.

A legend in his day, no doubt. Probably the best hooker i've ever seen. But he's getting on a bit now.

Agreed abit harsh, De Gois played great last year, and once Stone gets his head out of his ***, and starts playing him for 80 minutes again, he'll be great again

Oh sorry, my mistake. i forget that the general consensus of you guys is that if there young they're the next Andrew Johns, Clive Churchill, Norm Proven or Reg Gasnier, but if your 30+ then its goodbye grandpa.

He hasnt exactly been given much of a chance in Superleague, going from the starting hooker in NRL to a half game interchange. And frankly what has De Gois done of us this year. Not much.

Buderus has done more for this club then most, and i rate him easilier above De Gois any day of the week. He will provide better defence, leadership and organisation then De Gois could every hope to achieve. He's easiler better then every NSW hooker and most NRL hookers that he could easily get back to Origin and even test games.

He should be a must.

I know what you mean Willyum. Don't get me wrong here, I want Bedsy back as much as the next person, BUT, DeGois is a long term option where as Bedsy will only be able to offer us 2 years at most, not to mention he will be about double the price of DeGois.

If we did get Bedsy, that would rule out Gasnier and a few good fowards. It would affect the depth of the squad and we would only be able to get a few fringe first graders at most.
I know DeGois isn't in the form he was in 2009, but is any of the team apart from Uate? DeGois is younger ad probably less injury prone than Bedsy and has his best years to come and would be outright stupid to bring him back aswell as being unfair on DeGois aswell as Gidley. Let DeGois get completely fit from injuries and you will see him shine.

Lets say Buderus does come back. He has 1 year left in him, 2 at most. It would be downright stupid to release De Gois. Then we''d be screwed in a few years time looking for a hooker. De Gois is a quality hooker. He isn't in the best form atm, i admit that. but if you watched him last year, you would know he's a good player

I'm not bagging him for being too old. The matter is, whether you believe it or not, he is past his best. If you watched his last year at the knights you would know that.

If it's true and Buderus turns out for another club then he is a turncoat. I'm a huge Bedsy fan and would prefer him over Hilder as a reserve hooker but there's no way I'd have him in over DeGois. DeGois is a great hooker and if he is able to play consistently I can see him challenging Ennis and Farrah for the NSW hooker position.

9. De Gois
14. Buderus (on a small salary)

Simple.

Not to mention that Buderus said that having Walters here for a year was the best thing that could've happened to his game.

there was no such story in todays sunday telegraph...

Was the Sunday Herald:

BEDSY'S TWO-YEAR PLAN
There's been a lot of speculation about Knights legend Danny Buderus returning to Newcastle next season. The Last Word can confirm the 32-year-old is eyeing an NRL return, but it won't be with the Knights, who already have gun hooker Isaac De Gois on their books and killing it. Two years ago, Buderus would never have contemplated playing against his Knights, but the Leeds Rhino is resigned to playing elsewhere. After suffering a biceps tear, knee ligament damage and broken leg since joining the Rhinos, Buderus has had limited game time and shared the hooking duties with youngster Paul McShane. As a result, he says he feels fresh as ever and told close friends and family he is willing and able to play a further two years in the NRL.

I heard Andrew Johns was coming back, because in his time, he was the best, therefor he must still be the greatest?

How can you pick a form player between De Gois, an attacking hooker, and Hilder, a 40+ tackling lock?

Yeah, he may have 2 years left or he may play until his 40. Secondly i did say Hilder or DeGois i didnt exaclty name who should go. Just the likely candiates

Yes DeGois is a quality hooker, who played one good season. (Buderus played 10 or so). And theres as good a chance that DeGois wont play consisntenly good again or reach that quality for the rest of his career, as there is that we will. Theres obviously no coincidence between Stone coming into the top job and his form. Just like that and Cross, Sau, The halves, Paterson, Tolar, Fa'oasos' form. etc, etc.

And lastly theres no guarnatee that Isaac will stay with the team when he comes off contact next year or the year after. He may wanna go back to the sharks, or the bulldogs or roostesr might play there sneaky tricks and steal him or he may wanna move on, and then we're f*cked anyway.

Saying that he is past his best is as naive as thinking because DeGois was a quality hooker last year he is gonna be for the long haul, when he is not at all in form. The stint in super league may have done Buderus the world of good and fpr all we know he could come into the game guns blazing. There have been plenty of the olders guys who people have said its past their time and they've proved everyone wrong by finding great form again and playing the best they have in their career.
