Your team for 2019

The whole 5 years to make the team competitive is the biggest load of codswallop on these forums.
Des Hasler will probably have Manly competitive in 3 months from now, or 1 year at the most, and he won't do it by sacking everyone, employing new people, and then sacking them.
Of course you know better than the best rugby league coach ever ...I don't know what Brown did to you but man you hate the guy with a passion ..I have to say that it wasn't long ago that every person on this forum was crying out loud to get rid of the deadwood players. Brown comes in and does that and because half those players were locals you have hated him ever since ...

I don't hate anyone.
I don't see any sign of good coaching from Brown and I'll say that if that's what I see.
He seems like a nice guy.
People on here, and on the net in general, like to demonise and abuse people who don't agree with them, and it's pathetic, tiny minded intolerance of other people's opinions.
I am a member of many forums, and this is the only one on which people feel they have the right to besmirch my character on a regular basis, just because I don't have their fanboy mindset.
I repeat. I hate no one.
I don't rate Brown as a coach because he loses a heap of games and players do not improve under him - that's it.
It has nothing to do with all the nonsense you make up about me.

I'd say a few of our great wins this year came down to a great game plan which came from the coaches box.

The wins over Brisbane and Panthers come to mind.

IMO, I think this is bigger than just winning a premiership or 2 (as much as that is the goal each year). This is about transforming a team into a perennial contender, much like Storm, Roosters, etc.

I’d rather that than a short window where we are a chance to win a premiership. Look at the Bulldogs now. They made the GF in ‘12 and ‘14 which were successful seasons, but it clearly wasn’t sustainable. Hell, look at our run to the QF in ‘13 with Bennett and price we are now footing. With West’s behind us, I think Brown is hoping to set up long term, sustainable success.

I completely disagree with this argument winning a premiership should be the only important thing, if it causes pain after woulds well and truly worth it.

Christ mate you don't remember good ole LU where I was so popular I copped permanant ban?

No one is questioning his recruitment, of which much of the praise should go to Darren Mooney. Plenty are questioning his coaching, as they should.

It seems that the Brown cheer squad can't comprehend this, so I'll leave it at that.
How do you know who deserves more praise for our recruitment???
One thing I know for sure is that the players who have signed, have done so to be coached by Nathan Brown, not Darren Mooney or anybody else!

Ponga and Pearce have said themselves the pitch brought to them from Brown was part of the reason they signed.

Its funny that its all Brown when it comes to letting players go and staff go, though its Moons that hired the new good players.

But wouldn't you rather be in the running for premierships each year (such as Storm) without the post-premiership pain each year (such as Bulldogs currently are, although they came close but didn't win one with Hasler)?

Realistically that's not gonna happen, Broncos & Roosters have the TPA advantage while the Storm have had the most influential spine for over a decade. Then because of the reputation they've gained, they can stay successful because good players want to go there. Our aim will be closer to the Panthers' model, where we've fixed the cap, bring in good players & develop our juniors well so we can have a constant cycle of bringing in good youth & culling the top, so you're consistently keeping a good squad. That leads to being in the finals regularly & if you happen to develop the right core group, a premiership is possible.

Hopefully we get the ball rolling sooner than later because it would be such a shame to waste the best years of having Ponga & Pearce. These guys are our best chance of a premiership since Johns & we need to do it before it's too late.

LOL, aside from the storm who else had that level of success, its simple football economics for the most part when you aren't salary cap cheats, you have a few good years, then a few sh!!!!t years.

So with the coaching merry-go-round starting to take full effect. It’s getting kind of exciting waiting who could possibly come on to the player market.

Mate I was just stating what I see from you but if you felt like I was attacking you then im sorry for that I didn't mean it like that at all .

There is very little personal attacks on here from what I have seen, saying a poster hates Brown because of whatever reason is hardly a personal attack, or demonising someone.

We are all big enough to be able to have a say and put our points forward whether ridiculing another persons viewpoint or defending our own that we don't need to get personal, and we rarely do I find.

It's not like Billy has never attacked anyone on here either.

This place is a forum and a place to discuss our opinions etc. I am also a member on a bunch of forums and don't find any of them better than here behaviour wise, certainly there are worse.
