Looks like they are going to do an interviews with the coach during the game again this year.. yuck. I can handle interviews and stuff in the locker room but the coaches box is not the place to be, they need to be as switched on as the players, it would be like asking questions to players on the feild.

Only managed to listen to the 2nd half of the first half in the car on ABC radio; it didn't sound like NSW were particularly inspired.

Having Origin as the first game before they’ve even started doing pre-season training is so stupid. First game is always so error riddled. Probably lucky there hasn’t been more serious injuries from it

Could Strange have possibly squeezed any more Roosters players into that team 🙄
How is Berry not getting a run over Fressard

QLD look surprisingly good without Aiken. Kiria-ratu has a big boot for her size, there’s hardly anything of her

Nah kept throwing the miracle ball. I think NSW feels they can just run over Qld with experience. Lots of dropped ball in good ball from NSW aswell. Chapman is a highlights reel girl. Needs to learn to shorten her running style.

TV commentators are talking it up as much as they can, but both sides are having error after error.
It happens every year - SOO out of season is a bad idea.

On the plus side, Yasmin Meakes topped the tackle count and fantasy points (equal with Sergis) and had some of the best forward runs of the game. She looks very fit.
Olivia Higgins only got 25 minutes but she had the only try assist for NSW and it was a very good one that got NSW back into the game.
Both look fitter than last year. Higgins showing no sign of the injury to her arm she carried all last season.

I wonder if staying in Newcastle and training at the Knights centre of excellence has made some of those players think about joining Newcastle.
I know Isabella Kelly started in the Newcastle state cup side and is now living in Newcastle, Kernick started in our first Tarsha Gale squad and Ellie Johnson lives in Port Macquarie and only stays in Sydney for the NRLW season.
I think we have several juniors from Port Macquarie and one of them, Stella Lewis, joins the NRLW squad now that Tarsha Gale has finished.
We are supposed to have some of the best facilities for women, so having those elite players use them for a week can't have done our chances of signing a few any harm.
