Will Pryce discussion

Pryce might get his opportunity to shine now that Cogger has returned to the Panthers. We're running out of halves options in a hurry. Re Cogger I'm sure he'll go well back at the Panthers, as a matter of fact, outside Nathan Cleary who isn't going to go well?
Cogger isn't going anywhere mate.

I guess I should have gone to Specsavers!! Let's also be fair about Bailey Hodgson. Injury plagued since joining the Knights and never really got an opportunity to develop NRL skills. I honestly felt sorry for the guy, but hey, that's footy. Re Cogger, I hope and pray he can finally show something in the halves (now that he's staying!) . As I said in my earlier post, ANYONE will look good playing outside Nathan Cleary!

1st half last week he looked like the Will Pryce we saw early last year in reserve grade - out of his depth and making a lot of bad decisions.

2nd half was his best 40 minutes in Knights colours IMO.

A big factor is he has only looked good as the junior playmaker in firstgrade or when he had Hastings calling the shots in reserves.

In the game last week he was pretty much running the side with Liam Sutton more of a running half than a good playmaker, and Pryce had some really quality try assists and line break assists, as well as well directed kicks.

Wests were last year's wooden spooners and aren't much good this year, but I think Pryce finally showed he has good potential.

Doesn’t seem to be much love for the poor bastard at the knights offers plenty in attack and will only get better with better players around him in first grade yes he has some errors but is a bit like codie walker gives us another kicking option at the end of sets which sharpe doesn’t have at this stage even with injuries can’t see how he gets a chance in first grade and paying over for brown seems to be the line threw Pryce for next year

The only way that’s a good deal for us this season is if we are making space in the cap to pay some freight on Brown for this season.

We need to spend 95% every season so getting Pryce off the books just weakens the squad if the money isn’t being re-invested well.

He’s off contract at the end of this year. I have no qualms with him signing a deal with Hull for 2026.

Writing was on the wall with Dylan Brown here now.

With how he’s performed in NSW Cup & a couple of NRL pre-seasons under his belt I’m betting he’ll be a much better player on return to the Super League vs when he departed.

He just isn’t NRL material the NRL is a massive step up and he cannot cope with the set defence.

He does have a better kicking game than Sharpe but Sharpe is 5x the overall player Pryce is and has 50x the potential, Sharpe can be top 5 five-eighth in the league if he keeps progressing like he is and he is younger than Pryce, home grown, currently better.

He’s just simply not good enough that’s not anything against him there are a lot that aren’t good enough for the NRL.

I struggle to understand what you mean by “better players” in first grade he is shoulder to shoulder with rep player after rep player and in lower grades he has great prospects he can use like McKewn, ESL, Hopwood, Cant, McCarthy, Aoake and so on. He simply isn’t that good.

I say good bye and good luck in England hope he goes well.

I've seen more footy IQ from the Hoad brothers in a couple of bench appearances than from Pryce in a year, but Pryce is a better player than he was last year.
Taj Blackman could step up to reserve grade and do a better job for a fraction of the money.

Maybe we have a prop lined up for the 400k he is on?
