Trent Merrin

Would be very happy with Merrin as a signing. His been quieter this year than previous years but his still only 27 so has plenty left in the tank and even this year his still averaging 108m and 26 tackles a game.
Yes Merrin is still a good player, I think if we got him and played him at lock and gave him more minutes his numbers would be very good.

Griffin and now Ciraldo have had him in the front row rotation which imo doesn’t get the best out of him.

Watching Merrin vs warriors. I think you are right that he would be good for us at 13.

Mole "reporting" the Knights are looking at Merrin again. Seems like a strange move tbh

MERRIN CHASING NRL RETURN
English club Leeds have given Trent Merrin permission to talk to Aussie clubs for a return home on compassionate grounds - but the former Test forward is finding it hard to land a deal.

The Knights and Dragons are both keen on Merrin - a fine forward at his best and when fully fit - but are having trouble coming up with the money required.

Both have little room to move in the salary cap unless they move a player on to fit in Merrin.

It leaves the 30-year-old Merrin in limbo, with pre-season training to start soon.

This was in the Herald a couple of weeks ago.
Merrin furphy
It will come as no surprise, given the number of middle forwards in their roster, that the Newcastle Knights aren't in the market for another one.

There has been speculation over the past few weeks that the club is targetting ex-Dragons and Panthers forward Trent Merrin for next season. It is well wide of the mark.

"We aren't in the market for frontrowers," Knights player list manager Troy Pezet told us.

Automatically disregard if it's a rumour coming from The Mole. There isn't anything that isn't speculated that doesn't come from Baz first, usually through Twitter fan questions or his articles.
