McEwen describes himself as a "little kid" when he did his first pre-season in 2024, much more ready in 2025, and good to go now. Says he hopes to make right second row his own this year.

Promo shoot today in full kit. Numbers seemed to be accurate (Mooney in #10, Crossland in #9 etc.)
But most notably giving more fuel for the halves battle talk: Sharpe was in #6. Smith was there, too, but didn't get a look at the back of the jersey. Brown was there, presumably wearing #7, so can surmise that Smith was in #14.

If he's wearing 7 its because Sharpe is wearing 6. In which case, we'll have two 5/8ths and no halfback.

IMO Smith is instantly the best halfback in the entire club, a guy that played his entire life as a halfback bar his NRL career, you can have a good running game and be a 7 as is shown by the like of Moses and Hughes who get past other defences consistently with their running game.
As a halfback you want to put the defence into two minds and no better way to do that than show you can pass and take the run when needed, halfbacks have been doing that since the day day the position was created.
