The pre-season 2026 thread

Depends on the price for Jesse. He’s clearly developing into a good starting calibre prop, and he always looks like he’s trying to impact the game with physicality rather than put up numbers, which I like. But I’m not sure he’ll ever be “special”, if you get me.

Or: He’ll become an Origin player, and I’ll look stupid for questioning whatever money he ends up signing for.

Either way, he goes alright and is improving each year.

True. I wouldn’t have put him on Frizz money yet but he could be aiming high

Just sorting my 2026 members pack and yep, they have manage to go even cheaper on the inclusions.

Now, they are counting the member lanyard and plastic card as something that counts towards your credit.

Standard pack is now just a hat, lanyard/card, sticker.

I remember when we wanted more than just the standard hat, sticker, fridge magnet and discount at the shop. Somehow they have managed to deliver just a hat and sticker.

Surely Frizz is on a maximum of $600k this year and even that is $150k overpaid for the last couple of years of what he has produced.

He really is reminding me of Dale Finuccine of the last 2-3 years of his career where he was a myth.

Lot to look fwd to, Saulo Cup player of year for Canberra, try scoring by DeCourcey and Kepaoa, and Mooney playing strong along with our younger brigades such as McEwan, Hopwood, ESL, Manulelao etc along with our regular Knights starters, thinking close to top 8 but likely 9-12.
Be nice to have the likes of Ponga, Lucas and Sharpe play more games than last season
Lots better depth this year. Sharpe genuinely covers everywhere 1-7 and de courcey and kepaoa ready to step in if needed. Mooney, paulo, hola add a lot of depth to middles. I feel we could use another hooker.

Not too sure on that. Sharks can’t keep him. Storm, rabbits, bears, dragons, knights, titans are in for him.
Could be my bias as a fan but honestly out of them all us and the storm seem the best choices.

No way players aren’t seeing we are building really well here for a push soon, and well Melbourne is Melbourne, he won’t do a thing at the Titans that’s a given, Bears maybe but will need 10+ years to build to a force, dragons have Shane and Kyle… and Rabbitohs I mean they might also have a chance but I don’t know why.

If I was him I’d have narrowed it down to us and the Storm but again it might be my bias

Yep, loving how the Bears are developing.

Not doing the Finns trying to get a marquee player, instead building a balanced squad.

As a kid went for them until I switched to the Knights in the early 90s.
They actually did try and do some marquee signings but got knocked back. The bears and png are not like the dolphins, I’d be surprised if they do any good the first few years.

Yeh I thought I’d be able to use the credit to buy other stuff in the store but you can pretty much only use it on stuff that’s not worth buying. Bit disappointing really

This is for 27 right? I think bears, titans, dragons aren’t doing much this and next year. South’s not sure. Yes some bias here also but I think we are building a good squad.
