The only people who'd know if he was up to it would be Kade and his doctor, but i'd back him to push his way to firstgrade if we gave him a second tier contract and he was uninjured.
He's basically been out of the game for as long as Willie Mason was, and Willie came back reasonably well for an old guy.

I am sure if he tears it up in there and goes injury free we would have a look.

I do not see a come back path. The insurance company pay out contract would see to that and if he is permitted back and injured again, sue the Club big time for taking him back.

If he gets a medical clearance they can sue the doctor, but good luck with that.
He has already played some games this year for Belmont I think it was, and has signed to play for one of the real NRL clubs next year. He has also trained for boxing and had a few fights.
If the guy is fit to play - and he clearly is - it's just a matter of if he is up for having a go at the top level.
Ryan Stig was basically in the same position, and he trained with our part time squad this year and had a few games with us in reserve grade before playing out the year with Wests.
There is no difference - if you are fit to play, you are fit to play - it's a medical issue, not a legal one.

You would think there were insurance implications of Snowden coming back after medically being retired. Insurance has to assess him to medically retire him, pay out his contract via insurance claim.

This is how it works to medically retire someone right?

Not sure how he gets insured to come back to the NRL. I guess he must be getting insured to play in the real NRL.

If he is fit to play, he is fit to play. Nothing that happened in the past changes that.
Try telling centrelink that you can't work because you had an injury 3 years ago, so being fully fit now doesn't count.

It's my understanding the insurance company only pay out for career ending injuries, so if Snowden did come back the insurance company would be asking some questions.

Anyway it's ridiculous to think it could happen

After peptides he was only ever mediocre and now a few years on with no play he would be worse.

No thanks even from some who l-o-v-e locals.

half fit he was better than anyone we have now - a million miles ahead of Lillyman and Heighington.
Fully fit he was better than any of the guys you all want to throw a million dollars at.
If we could get him to train for virtually nothing in the part time squad to see how he goes, we'd be crazy not to.
Giving him a top 30 spot would be silly, but giving him Junior Roqica's spot in the part time squad would be swapping a former reserve grader for a former Kangaroo.
The worst thing that could happen would be the young props like Momoisea, Fuimanono and Bobby Tracey could spend a few months training with a guy who has been one of the best in the game.

I was always a big fan of Kade

He was always one of those guys not quite as good as some made out but also not as bad as the haters would tell you.

Good at carting the ball up and made his tackles, lateral defence was his biggest issue.

He looked like plod when he ran it up and was still our most effective forward. Loved the guy.

Look at Luke Douglas he was the same thing. He played 100 straight games which was amazing for a prop but once he left the Sharks peptide program he disappeared off the face of the earth so fast.

I imagine Snowden playing now would be similar if Gidley did, would be injured within 5 games.

Wrong on all accounts.

He played over 260nrl games, 215 straight without injury.
He's now playing for St Helens where his played 60 games or something and still missed bugger all.
Guys a freak tbh.

Over 320 top flight games and missed less then 20 games

Kade has probably been tucking into the dietary supplements like never before now that he is not subject to regular testing.
All these things are legal - just prohibited for professional sportsmen.
He had a whole range of injuries to rehab, and it's a lot easier to rehab injuries with the right "diet".
He has never stopped training.
He did some boxing with his older brother.
He then took up coaching and training his local league team - Belmont I think - and eventually started playing.
He is a 31 year old natural athlete who may well be in the best shape he has been in since his mid 20s.
I don't know if his back responded well to surgery and 2 years rehab, but he is back playing and feels well enough to sign to play real NRL next year, so i'd say he is good to go.
If he came back next year he'd be a year younger than Willie Mason was when he came back to play with us after 2 seasons off - virtually the same situation. Willie didn't turn back the clock, but he was good enough to hold a spot.

Sounds like a Heighington type signing.

One last year, maybe two. Chip in but not the forward we need.

And again with the help of peptides

Lol do players even get injured during Super League?

You are kidding yourself if you think Douglas isn't anything more then a plodder without the peptide help hence why he went to the less intense ESL and wasn't the same player at the Titans

Douglas was a pretty decent player prior to the peptides. Not a star by any means but a solid First Grader.

Being made the captain of the Titans is like Gaigai winning player of the year for the Knights lmao. Much like Snowden, Douglas didn't exist before or after the peptides. Much like any of the other Sharks players who were average before them.
