Sorry to read that Beaumont. Sincere condolences to you and your family.

Thank you for sharing.

My Sister passed away a few weeks ago. When she was diagnosed she was given 3 to a maximum of 6 months. She fought for a bit over 2 years. I'd like to let forum members know the quality of young bloke we have at our Club. From the first day Sione met my sister up until her last days he visited or called to see how she was doing. He would often call in with afternoon tea, ring for a chat and visited her in hospital. He might not be everyone's cup of tea as an NRL player and that's fair enough but don't ever let anyone tell you he's not a champion young man.
sorry to hear it beat her lets hope her spirit inspires sione to achieve her prediction from when she was diagnosed

Definitely pulled on the heartstrings, that email. In the current NRL climate, Sione’s good deeds for one of his fans is a welcome story. Thanks for sharing @Beaumont. Best wishes for your family.

I'm assuming that was your email shared on the Knights website @Beaumont ?

Really well put mate. Condolences to the family

Yea Mate it was. I've only ever mentioned it on here but got sick and tired of the idiots in the game making the front page and thought I'd let them know there's plenty of decent young blokes involved in the NRL. I wasn't looking to make it public but Nathan Ryan suggested supporters would like to see the story.

Just wanted to add my voice to pass on my sincerest condolences Beaumont and thank you for sharing this deeply personal story...in a world where people are focusing on negativity and the worst in people, it is nice to show the generosity of spirit that exists through people like Sione.

Your sister's story is inspiring and I hope that is some comfort for the family to know and remember that, through such tough times and with all that was going on, she still had the opportunity to enjoy and celebrate life...they are truly memories to cherish.

It seems he has been with us forever but still so young, not many have stuck with us over the last 3 years it would be nice to think that some rewards for effort have rewards, could he be a regular in our 17 that finishes well up, final 8, at season end. We love our imports, top players, Klemmer, Pearce, Ponga etc but tend to forget our locals, even knock them, it’s not just Sione but all the others, locals that have kept the club going. We should embrace and encourage them, wish them well with us or other clubs. Hopefully effort will be rewarded but if not at least appreciated by all of us. He might not make it but it won’t be lack of effort on his part.
