Guys, I'm still in shock with the last play from Mann. I don't know how to describe it, if I get footage I will post it asap.
The poor kid, you can see what he was trying to do, make it go dead and Bulldogs would have no chance to get the ball back.
But Jesus Christ he give all the people at the game heart attacks. Both the Knights for almost losing it and the Bulldogs for being in shock with what he did.
To explain without sounding harsh.
- Up by 4 - Just defended for the last 5 minutes on our line with great do or die defence. Bulldogs through everything at us to win it.
- 15 seconds left - Last tackle - 40m on our own line 10m in from the sideline.
- Hooker throws it to Mann who does a 180, runs backwards for 5m then decides to try and kick it dead. A 50m kick down to our own try line to make it go dead. He could have kicked it into the sideline, downfield or hell on the full into the grandstand. Instead he kicks it back in our own in goal. Madness!
- He placed it pin point acurately in the in goal.
- The Bulldogs were running through as it was - 4 blokes ready to score it. They couldn't believe their luck.
- Try Assist Mann in the corner, he had set them up for victory.
Whole crowd was in shock. To be blunt they were all thinking 'What the f*ck did we just see?'
Both Knights & Dogs fans.
Thankfully Bulldogs missed the sideline kick and we had an early shot 40m in GP and nailed it.
Mann was in tears and didn't look too cheery after it, as you would.
I'm not going to dwell on it too much as he played well for 69 mins but almost lost it for us.
I'm sure he has learnt his lesson BIG TIME.
It's bittersweet really.
But superb effort to all involved.
Pete Mata'utia was in the crowd, his little bro was dynamite. Suprised he wasn't MOTM.
