I dn't think our owners want Cronk anywhere near the place and would never approve $2million for any player.
Yeah more wishful thinking to get Cronk on 1 mil as its really us or retire atm. Even if we pay 1.2 mil means we should get Graham for close to his value which is 900k. Who wouldnt want to play with the best HB in the world and the top young talent off Ponga. Thats what id hope for anywayMate Cronk is on 900k now do u think h would come to newy for 2-300k more? 1.5+ and still be a fight tbh.
Graham is getting 1 mil at the dogs next yr... think he would comehere for less? No chance.... needto offer 1.15mil as ive said since day dot of that rumor.
We have to offer 200k more for a player orthey wont even consider us.
We needto stop the 5 star rating player chase and go for the 3.5 star and offer 5 star money... we have no other option....
Unless we wait it out and still come last in 2020.

Read James Maloney is looking at his options for next year. Just saying![]()
Good players in good teams are usually ok with less money to continue being in a good environment. Think Taumololo not going to the warriors. I would hate to think we could go back to square one and impulsively offer more just because Souths are. As talented as Gagai is we need to remember that he is only a centre, our money desperately needs to go into our halves and front row stocks. The main issue I find here is Brown has offered Gagai 'market value' deal. Souths have trumped us with an above market value deal, and Gagai has taken the money and left. Now explain something to me how do we expect other marquee players to come here for market value when our own marquee player has left?
It's all well and good to say these guys are replaceable but what happens when Sione or Dan Saifiti or Lamb are off contract and someone comes and offers them overs ? Do we just continue to let these guys walk ? I know paying overs for guys is what got us in this mess but it's about paying overs for the right players and not the likes of Randell and Stockwell ......

Gagai's money + Mullo's money = Cronk
They found a way to build a culture where players were playing for more than money.
Melbourne have managed that too.
Every other side that wins a premiership manage it as well, but 9 out of 10 of them do it by getting players who grew up supporting the side - not buying mercenaries who are playing for money.
It isn't hard - you can't buy a premiership - you have to earn a premiership by building a culture of players who want to win for much more than dollars.
If you have a way to do that that doesn't involve growing our own, you should share it, because every coach and administrator in the game wants to know.
If Cronk wants to play on then our odds of getting him are better and better (not saying it will happen ) but you never know ...Gould said ....
"Where are Penrith going to get the money to buy Cooper Cronk?"
Speculation has been rife since the 33-year-old's announcement, but the mooted bidding war hasn't ensued with Sydney clubs locking in other playmakers for 2018.
Mitchell Moses will play his first game on Saturday for Parramatta, Kieran Foran has been secured by Canterbury for next season and Josh Reynolds is on his way to the Wests Tigers.
The Sydney Roosters, South Sydney and Manly have settled halves pairings, while Gareth Widdop and Chad Townsend have re-signed at St George Illawarra and Cronulla respectively.
Cronk has also shot down a switch to rugby union.
1 Ponga 4 Ferguson 7 Cronk 8 Graham /Tolman ... These additions would suit imo Graham AND Tolman would be good . For $700,000 plus his Tpa for Gagai I love the guy but Ferguson would cost less and is a better player if its going to cost us that much and more as we have to match the tpa as well then throw the cheque book at Ferguson and offer him 7 or 800,000 we would be better off ....
