Rumour: Knights chasing Josh Papalii

Raiders are a mess. Stuart and the coaching staff need to have a good look at themselves. On paper, even without Hodgson, they’ve got a strong squad. Why aren’t they performing up to their potential? That’s a question Stuart needs to ask himself. What’s he doing? Looks like a typical Stuart team. After a couple of seasons, they fall off a cliff and severely underperform. It’s like his message grows stale and he’s got no other way to get through to the players.

Well... I'll start with problem 1; their coach blames everyone he can for their problems, except himself... if he's not accountable for the team's performances, why should the players feel accountable for their performances? If you're not accountable the outcome doesn't matter as much.
 
So far this year he's taken aim at Samoa for making his team fat, the NRL, the refs and now his players are soft.

Whatever they are paying for the spoon get on it.
 
We’ve got all this money this year and nobody to spend it on. Why not front load his contract and then offer half a million for the next 2 or 3?

His not worth 500k imo, though i know at his best he's worth 650k.
So offer the 500k with incentives where he could earn 650k+

Imo he aint worth 650k, im sure every nrl club will think he aint worth 650k.

Heck i think im worth a billion dollars yet my wife wouldnt throw 100k down to keep me lol.
 
Didn’t see their game last week, but Papalii was second to only Wighton in run metres and was one of only two forwards to run for over 100m. He also had 0 missed tackles (33 for the team) and just 1 error to his name (12 for the team), yet gets dropped this week. Maybe there’s more to it. Maybe it’s attitude or effort which doesn’t show up on the stat sheet. Or maybe Sticky has completely lost the plot. I’m already thinking the latter tbh.

Papali always looks lazy to me and I'm often shocked to see his numbers are fairly decent

For me It's a no for his asking price, our need of another edge back rower and I just don't think he is the right guy and I doubt Brown sees him either.
