Uhhh I don't think he'd be playing 20 minutes...
Can't be serious paying $500k to play 20 mins a game, and what happens if our injury curse continues and Levi goes down first game.
No we need a player to fill the void left by Griff, 80 minutes if required even if plays reserves for a bit depending on Levi's performance etc and his standard otherwise it's Buhrer as backup until Starling or others reach ability and maturity to play firsts.
Yes for mine as full time hooker, Levi to reggies the poor way he has played this year.
Very sound backup Levi.
I meant 20mins is the minimum we need out of him. So because he is going to miss most of the pre-season and he will be coming back from an injury he more than likely will not be fully match fit and can start the season play 20mins a game.
Providing Levi doesn't get injured
Surgery this week so he doesn’t miss pre season
Toohey seems to think he will miss most of the pre-season on twitter.
Should be the same operation Dan Saifiti and Moga had last year you would think.
They could both do fitness work all off season, ball work for the last month, and contact for a few weeks before the season.
What is the actual extent is it a reco? Is it a clean up? What is it? But even with a reco I think he would be close to good to go at start of ore season
Would be a stabilisation surgery which is generally 6 months recovery
I can’t see it being worse then Garreth widdops and he is expected back in 4 months
It looks to be a done deal that the Kiwi international will return to Australia to join the Newcastle Knights in 2019 after three seasons with the Warriors.
He has met with Nathan Brown and it is understood the Warriors will not have the cash to match the offer being tabled by the Novocastrians.
At 31 years of age, the off-contract premiership winner still has plenty to offer, and he was one of the major reasons the Warriors made their first finals appearance since 2011.
At 31 the second year has to be in our favour. And given we will have Griff coming back from his knee ops at the end of next year the Knights are being very wise keeping the option in our favour.
He can spend the year mentoring Levi, he is Levi's idol so if anyone can get him listening and add to his skills it would be him. After a year hopefully Levi has learned a lot, and griff will be back so no need for that second year option.
Griffin off contract at the end of next year. We might be spinning up coach browns hooker carousel again for 2020
It's generally 4-6 months. Saifiti, Barnett and Moga all had the same surgery end of last year and made it back for round 1
Maybe, but which ones have been genuine premiership hookers? He's had to shop out of necessity to some point.
Deal looking un-likly. And Levi will ask for a release if we sign Luke.
Id rather keep Levi to be honest.
Maybe play Lino or Watson (if we sign a fullback) as bench utilty/hooker cover.
I'd keep Levi over buying Luke too, but that's a terrible attitude from Levi to be honest. You play in the NRL, you don't get to have free reign without competition in your spot.
Are we assuming Levi would leave if Luke signed, maybe after his earlier dummy spit he would be OK and put head down and bum up. I hope he stays either way and continues to improve, still young and getting towards his best years Luke has passed them.
It's be going to be good when Levi isn't a Knight any more.
