Rumour: Knights after Keegan Hipgrave

He started the season coming off the bench and played a lot in the middle. Past maybe 6 or so weeks now, he’s been starting second row. Number 12.
So he is a 2nd rower and a prop.
We dont need a backrower so i assume we are looking at him to play in the middle.
He is small for a middle forward.

His Wiki profile says Prop 2nd row and Lock maybe they are looking at him playing Lock , he is a bit of a hit man. His aggression is a good thing it would be nice if that rubbed off on a few of our players ...

Looks like he can fight. Maybe he won't just stand around and watch our young blokes get bashed. We need more dogs.

Being able to fight in the NRL is no benefit unless you carry your own hand bag.
In reality hit men will be stamped out of the game within weeks of being identified , so if that’s what you want him for be prepared to have him only play half a year and be missing every time we are up against a glamour team.

So when Ponga gets belted in the head we accept our forwards inviting Luke Lewis to score untouched rather than belt him. If anyone would have put one on Lewis's chin it would have been worth a couple of weeks on the sideline to me. If we are looking at a bloke like Hipgrave I reckon Brown didn't like our own players reaction as well.

Belting a player with your fists is unfortunately (for some) not a part of the game any more, however the square-up tackle still is.

Getting back with some aggressive tackles and hurting the offending player is just as effective...

My point is Hipgrave looks to have a bit of thug about him. I don't think he'd be too shy in squaring up by trying to put a shot on. Our forwards haven't got a nasty bone in their bodies which is a shame.

Have to agree here!

If we are to play with the big boys we need to show that cheaps shots wont go unnoticed and a return of serve will come

Yates plays hard and strong but legal, haven't seen any unnecessary aggression from him in any consistent form so is not the answer, not sure this Hipgrave is, looks and acts tough but you also have to have football ability otherwise you are a liability except for the two minutes of Biff. We do need hard and tough but he must be able to play, 1st grade ability, would you leave Dan or Jacob out to fit him in?

I dont think we need "unnecessary aggression" as that will lead to penalties, suspension etc.

We need a player who brings just good, tough aggression in tackles. Someone opposition players look up and think crap not this guy. Yates is the only one i've seen consistently doing this. Barnett tries also.
