Rumour: Foran to the Knights

100k base salary (guaranteed money)
5k per win
2k per loss

10k bonus for top 8 finals
20k bonus for top 4
50k bonus for Minor premiereship

10k bonus for each finals win
30k bonus for Grand Final
50k bonus for Premiership

seems fair

Is Foran entitled to team related bonuses if he’s out injured all year or must he play a minimum number of games to be eligible? I think this contract is good for execution as soon as these finer details are ironed out.

Good question. His minimum games clause to activate the finals bonuses will be set at 11 games played minimum. More then 40% and less then 50%.

But let’s say he’s injured in the preseason, and plays 0 games. Gets his $115k to be a glorified assistant coach on the sidelines and that’s it.

Good structure. Let’s do it!

Jokes aside, Foran at $115k to coach young halves seems like good value.

I'd suggest you can't do win/lose would be appearance.

$115k base + 10 games = $100k bonus and than another $10k for every game after that.

He's about as in demand as a park footballer at the moment so it's only fair the terms of being paid per win and loss are in that contract.

Knights still apart of a three way race for Foran, according to Fox/News

At least it fits in with the humour of this signing that will never happen

Hooper trying to double down saying that Pearce is upset that the Knights didn't try and bring in Foran after their incorrect mail that the Knights were chasing Foran was never a thing and denied by the coach weeks ago pretty much right away.

As always, he has no clue what goes on within the Knights and the laughable fluff story proves it

People are saying if we got Foran he would be a good halves coach anyway , of course the up side to that is he has a good year and plays most games .
He would probably put Pearce back in form and the 2 together with Ponga and Brailey would get us a top 4 berth or better i reckon .

Is Foran's upside really worth the risk?
Realistically he has 1 full season left in his body IF he can keep fit, which off recent events is a huge IF.

So, best case scenario Foran plays the full season with Pearce, finishes up and then we're back to square one anyway.
Yes he might be a good halves coach, but why not offer him that straight up? Saves us risking our season de-railed by injuries to our key players and we pick up a great mentor for Crossland/Simi/Hoy

Hire him for one year on a minimum salary with bonuses for game and wins. If he breaks down move him straight into halves coach on the same money. That way no loss and insurance if and when he breaks down.

Some people forget how good Foran can be, he has had a lot of injuries but that can lengthen your career. This Member would be the perfect way to get him . Crossland and Sasagi and a few others would learn a lot from him on and off the field .

How he spends his money is his worry, how he plays is ours allowing for injuries, but personally I think we should sign him. We have Pearce for 2021, not likely to be better next, maybe with a very good 5/8 We go close.
Realistically we have Pearce to win the comp or go close, will only happen in next twelve months, Crossland, Hoy, Mann won’t do it NOW. Eggs in one basket. Crossland, Hoy, Best, Sasagi, Toa, etc are 2021 onwards so let’s go now and then build a team on that success. Win or go close next year and say to others if you want to win it you got to beat us.
We have a great pack, backline 1-5 looking good with backup so our weakness is 6-7, take the punt, we have Pearce, not ideal, gives it his all but lacks support, effort is not Pearce problem it’s game management, a good to very good 5/8 would do that..
Bottom line, ITS 2021 OR ITS SOME TIME LATER, maybe much later

If we could get him and he got through the year without major injury, was there for the finals I'd say sign him up right not. Problem is that is a big if with Foran.

We are definitely in a premiership window. But we are not going to win it without a quality attacking option at 5/8.

The Sharks want to get rid of Moylan but at $900,000 its too much money unless we sign him for 1 year as the sharks will pay some of his contract for next season .
