Round 7 NRL Discussion

Mark Gasnier to make a shock comeback

St George Illawarra have received mix news on the eve of their Anzac Day clash with Sydney Roosters with skipper Mark Gasnier to make a shock comeback from a calf injury but Matt Cooper ruled out with a back complaint.

Gasnier missed last week's loss to the Bulldogs with a torn calf and had initially been ruled out for four weeks, ruining his chances of playing for Australia in the Centenary Test on May 9.

But the star centre's quick recovery means he is almost certain to be named in the Test team when it is announced on Sunday.

Dragons coach Nathan Brown said Gasnier's return would boost the side.

"It's definitely a bonus to have Gaz (Mark Gasnier) back in, he is the club captain," said Brown.

"He has tried hard in the games he has played and gives that added spark to the team."

Winger Josh Morris, who today signed a deal to join the Bulldogs next season, will replace Michael Lett on the wing in the other team change.

geez that makes the game harder to tip plus the dragons always play good in this game regardless of how sh*t thier going

Cooper played heaps well against the Bulldogs last week. I saw him set up some great attack down their left hand side, and he saved a try too.

HALF TIME
St George Illawarra Dragons (18)
Tries: Ben Hornby, Jason Nightingale, Josh Morris
Goals: Jamie Soward (3/4)
Sydney Roosters (6)

Damn Roosters.

Dragons had majority of the possession and were alot more solid in defence. Roosters starting to slip..

St George Illawarra Dragons (26)
Tries: Ben Hornby, Jason Nightingale, Josh Morris, Brett Morris
Goals: Jamie Soward (5/6)
Sydney Roosters (6)
Tries: Anthony Tupou
Goals: Craig Fitzgibbon (1/1)

Worst match report ever

The difference between the two sides was clear three minutes after the break, when Fetuli Talanoa fingered a Nathan Merritt ball after the winger had found himself in the clear. A try should have been the result, but Thaiday's charge to run down Merritt and force a rushed ball cut off the play.

:icon_eek:

Oh and on another note, there is SAT night footy on Ch9 over the next 2 weeks! Next week:

FRI - City v Country
SAT - Wests Tigers vs. Broncos
SUN - Rabbitohs v. Cowboys

Why not Knights? :(

See, I told you. Another Broncos game broadcast by Channel 9! How many is that this season - 6? 7?

Saturday night. Not bad, gives me something to watch.

Though I doubt I'll end up watching them anyway, hardly seem like exciting games.
