Round 6 - Knights vs Tigers @ Hunter Stadium

It would be remiss of me to not make fun of a question asked by the Neville from FOX after the game. This gem was put to Trent Hodkinson. " Trent that's 16 from 16 how are you striking them ?" One of your best.

That's a Win. Outstanding. Hard fought & enjoyed by all who saw the game. Every player contributed. Celebrate It Big & then get back to work with the same belief in yourselves from what you have already done this season & what you achieved today.

I was at the game and I have to say Mullen had 1 good run 1 good kick and 1 good tackle and the rest of his game was rubbish and anyone that says that scoring down Uate's side isn't his fault is full of it ...Uate was terrible in defence today he had no idea where to be or what to do absolute crap.
You can hear the crowd draw breath in when the ball is in the air going to uate and then the applause when he catches it Which was the best part of his game today . ....

The rest of the boys did well someone on here had a dig at Mataora don't know why he played great most of the game and they stung us with the flop and the head high against Korbin The Saifiti's were very good as was stockwell and korbin tried hard , Gagai was my motm he played well today .

Tyler Randall deserved a try today. What a hard worker that guy is. Mullos defence was unreal 1 on 1. Its was a much better commuted game. Few lapses but all round everyone dug deep. Feeney........... Enough said

Great game to be at today. Crowd was on fire.

Nathan Ross really impressed me. His runs coming out of our end were outstanding.

Gagai showing heaps of improvement at the back.

Still heaps of silly mistakes :fist:

Just a few thoughts from the game. Hodkinson is one of our greatest buys in a looooooooonnnnggg time, not only was the game decided by his amazing goal kicking but he is a smart player, with a great kicking game, also made some solid and important tackles on players much bigger than him. Mullen's kicking game on the other hand was shocking, it seems he has developed Kurt Gidley syndrome where he is carrying the weight of the team on his shoulders and overthinking and trying to hard on every play rather than playing a natural game, he made so many mistakes that could've cost his side the game and made so many terrible decisions on the last. Gagai, once again is one of our best players, especially in attack, last season (in my opinion) he was pretty much the only player in the side who could hold his head high. Overall a tense game, no wonder Nathan Brown is bald, coaching the dragons for a few seasons would drive any coach to baldness, a few seasons coaching us and we'll be able to see his skull

The Saifiti brothers get better everytime they run out. Really impressed with their development. Daniel was absolutely belting them today!!!

They have actually gone past Pauli Pauli in my books.
It's actually really hard to believe they have 4 and 6 NRL games behind them.
Hell, Daniel is 4 games out of the juniors.

Yay! Finally a win and a well deserved one too.

It was a fantastic afternoon, crowd was outstanding, and Tigers supporters are always very civilised.

A great all round team performance and for the first time in a while were committed for the full 80 minutes.

Standouts for me were Dane Gagai...welcome back from where ever you have been, Nathan Ross, Korbin, and Tyler.

We started last year with 4 wins then began losing, hopefully this year , now we have had our 4 losses we can begin winning.

Well done boys.

Billy - I've coached a first division under 20's side. To think these brothers could be in that team is frightening.

Let's see how many 50/50 calls the ******* gives us today.

So much for a family friendly forum.

Great to get the win today, finally! We still manage to find ways to invite teams back into the contest though which is disappointing. We didn't close the game out until 30 seconds from full-time. But a wins a win and our defence held strong and the boys can be proud until we more than likely get a touch up by the Broncos next week. :/

After watching gagai at FB tonight I rekon he is our long-term fb, looked good in Def and was great In attack will get better with potter helping him.
Also thought k.Sims played his best game in a long time, seems like he was in everything.

I am curious as to how this team would go with Kurt gidley giving one more season.
I personally wouldn't have him before Randall at hooker, Gagai at fullback or Mullen and hodko in the halves. But with gidley steering the ship allows the other boys to run their own game

We Won! You Bloody Beauty! You know what though? We should have won by more!! I see improvement every week, even with the rookie errors! Where are you now nick**** ?????

gidley is steering Warringtons ship atm and Chris sandow is his deckhand

He transformed himself from a fantastic trainer into a good player, and he deserves everything he earned through hard work!! He still left 1 year too late, sorry captain!

I only got home to see the last half hour, what I saw was pretty impressive. Some good go forward, some bloody good stinging defense & good commitment. Yeh, there were some errors but not as many as usual in the time I saw, so even that was an improvement.
Without sounding like the typical whinger that can't even be happy with a win, but what I saw from the ref was pretty ordinary. A huge amount of the tackles from the Tigers were so slow & clingy, if they were Knights, the pea would've been blown out of the whistle for slowing the play the ball. They were let go though, it was pretty **** poor IMO.

It wouldn't have worried me if Gids had stayed on. It wasn't his fault he was the only one having a go for most of the time. I can't believe there's knights supporters that have bad things to say about him

You could feel it coming, improvements every game, home game against another young team. The crowd surprised me though, massive turnout. The best thing about this is we aren't just a team of alright players hoping something clicks one day, we're a team of kids that are learning how to play NRL & with Brown's faith they will develop, before you know it they will have 30-50 games under the belt & will start to really show something.
