It’s nice to see Brown has also given up on our season by naming the same tripe like Mann and Gavet week to week.

I thought Gavet was better than either of the Saifiti’s on the weekend. He made one bad error but was quite good otherwise.

As for Mann I have no clue. Maybe him and Brown are related.

Another week of surprising selections, I'm so over Brown's team selections.

I can only see us winning one or two more games this season. We should be the Titans and hopefully beat the Cowboys.

I've decided the NRL season is effectively over for me and it's the cricket season. I least one of my beloved teams is doing well!

At least I have my beloved Chicago Cubs to fall back on in the MLB.

Apart from SKD who does all the kick returns his stats were the best by far from the outside backs.

Mann has had some good games in jerseys with numbers from 1 to 5, but any number above 5 is not for him.

Mann just isn’t FG standard and said it from the moment he signed. Good to have in reserves for the odd game but if he is consistently in your 17 then the side as a whole mustn’t be any good.

Loaded full of egos as well. Can’t see any middle ground with that squad. Going deep in the finals or self combust and win only a handful of games.

Ponga made the same average metres per run from fullback as Mann did on the wing, less than half the post contact metres, no offloads to Manns 2, made 1/5 of the tackles, missed 5 tackles to Manns 0 (KP made 1 missed 5, Mann made 5 missed 0) and KP made 3 times the amount of errors.
I’m not a member of Manns fan club, but I think he is far from the top of list of backs that should be on the chopping block.

Stats are not everything.
Mann dropped a ball, they got the ball in a good attacking position then Mann rushed in 20m and they scored.
He rushed in 20m a few times.
He also let a tonne of players run past him when he was 5/8.

He doesn't register for missed tackles because he doesnt even touch them when they run past.

The only guys I'm thinking would have been picked by now are one of Starford Toa or Bradman Best if they hadn't been injured when Edrick got injured

I would play Tex Hoy on the wing and King or Saulo to replace Gavet.

Mann's defence is not to first grade standard so I don't think we are losing much in defence by playing Hoy. It is a good opportunity to give Hoy a taste of first grade.

Almost same team I'd say. We were not too far away from Manly. Just did not take the ample good scoring chances we got.

Convert a few of those chances and add few repeat sets and the game turns out very differently just from the possession % change.

Kurriboy , you are right - not far off.

When they missed those few opportunities the whole teams confidence seemed to drop, they seemed to be second guessing themselves, the little things like pushing the D into the holes from the inside, working that little bit harder to cover each others mistakes were forgotten - Typical of a team down on confidence, nothing seems to go right - only winning will change that mindset.

In the first half our Defence was moving fast up in a line, when Turbo started to scoot in the second half the team seemed to be sucking back expecting to be beaten.

If Brownie wants to use a rushing defence early no worries, but he needs to use the interchange better, rotate the smaller forwards early before they fatigue.

Winning comes off good Defence, there is no argument that on paper, figures look good while rushing in D, but what happens behind the line ? Is there talk ? Is there a secondary plan? Who is sweeping behind plugging the holes ?

Our forwards should be powering over the opposition teams in waves in attack, not just Klem (at least the old 1,2 maybe 3 ) to set the platform for our halves and play makers we are all aware that if the platform isn't laid your halves will never shine, doesn't matter who they are.

Kurriboy , we are not that far off, we have the team , Brownie just needs the right people in the team, with the right attitude, on the field at the right time.

League is a simple game , Run hard , Tackle hard , Work hard for each other, don't make mistakes, take the chances as they come and leave it all on the field - not that hard.

We can do it , are we mentally prepared??
