There was discussion on here a while ago that J safiti was no where near origin level. Run meters are not everything but J saf has been on top of D saf in run meters the last 3 games they have both played. And IMO J saf hits the line just as hard if not harder some time. D saf did play less minutes today I think obrien rested him around the same time as ponga.
 
Clifford and Crossland won't win a grandfinal for us, but both did their job perfectly well.
We needed Ponga to add the touch of class with the playmaking, but our halves had us performing like a well oiled machine by getting the ball to the right players at the right time.
 
If all the remaining games this round are won by the favourites, we will be in a 5 way tie for 7th spot.
 
The short turnaround and no serious training session could be good for us. Just take up where we left off in 4 days time.
 
Yep focus on rehab, and bring the same game plan to the Broncos game. They have the same strengths and weaknesses the Raiders do, except they’re worse. Wanna attack them exactly the same way.
 
It‘s a so much better feeling to be able to support a team which is competitive rather than an embarrassment.

Maybe D Saf’s rocket did the trick.

You have to wonder if our form was actually that bad going into the game we got a touch up from Melbourne who are giving a hiding to Penrith and then got a touch up from the roosters who gave the eels a hiding. Adding best into the side and a half fit ponga made a huge difference and pierce will make a difference again.
 
Much improved team effort, came out firing, pity about the last bit but job was done earlier.
Best made a difference sucking the defence in, Tuala reaped the benefits but he played his best game yet, have said before he is a left side player and that’s wing with Best playing. Ponga was dangerous again, Mann had his best game also, not just his try but his general play, Hunt was his usual professional self, strong runs, strong tackles, good support. Half’s we’re ok to good, had moments, kicking in gen play could have been better. Pack was excellent with JSaf leading the way, thought Barnett had a better game along with Frizell. Watson got lost, moved around due to injuries he is best at 14 coming on at lock, hooker ok f/b no thanks. Sue was down a bit, Klemmer looked angry again and should have had a try, King and Jones (not many minutes) did a job.
Now can they back it up through the quick turn around, hope so
 
Tuala is good in space and sneaky skillful, the problem is he’s not great doing yardage work and he’s not a big strong body. So he looks good when things are going good but horrible when they’re not. Gagai is similar but kind of just better at everything, on top of being actually really good in yardage.

If we can get rid of Shiba I’d happily see us retain Tuala as his versatility is valuable in a depth player, but for much the same reason I expect to see another club sign him. Got a sneaking suspicion he’ll end up at Souths. Another entry in the Knights <-> Bunnies outside back pipeline lol.

Personally I think Tuala will go back to QLD. Cowboys most likely IMO. Just guessing that based on the fact that he’s young and I imagine he has family back that way.

The loss against the Roosters, where we were in it for about 60 minutes, and this win against the raiders seem pretty similar form.
The Roosters game was so disappointing because we thought we were finally at full strength and might catch the Roosters understrength - but in hindsight, we can't match the top 4 this year.
 
Jayden Brailey has made the 2nd most tackles out of any player in the comp this year.
