Wouldn't say Ponga hit a new gear. I think he's been playing pretty well for the past 5 or 6 weeks. Much better then he was round 4-10. It did help that Sharks were so busy trying to put on dog shots, that they didn't bother to wrap him up.

It really looked to me that the guys who got a rocket from the coach this week were Pearce and Ponga and they really had a crack in this game. Pearce was taking on the line and had his best game in ages, and Pong was wanting the ball all game.
We won't know what the hard truths were in the team meeting - but I know which two players really found a new gear.
They are two players that had the most improvement but there was a big improvement in all the effort areas, kick chase, wrapping up the ball and pressure on the kickers, which in turn gives us better field position and help those players games as we not defending on our line for half the game.

I’m definitely not part of RA’s smart fan club because I actually think the Sharks have had a decent season and we’ve done quite well to beat them the way we did tonight.

Take a look at their results. Belted the teams they should and came quite close in half a dozen games versus the top teams. A record close to our own. We drew with Penrith and took out an out of sorts Canberra. Very hot and cold hence not being in the top 4. But tonight we handed it to a team that will likely play finals footy. Good to see.

I was really disappointed with all the Sharks dog shots, there should be no place for foul play in the modern game. I hope the Sharks receive a few suspensions from the game.

Gallen should keep his mouth shut, he seems to have an issue with the Knights.

If you ignore the Warriors game - Tigers, Cowboys, Eagles and Sharks have all showed up with plenty to play for and with serious intent, and we ended their season for them.

I think first half Sharks were us last week. Defo stepped it up in the second half with aggression, better attack and of course the grubby shots. The dude that came on in the 14 jersey changed it for them. Tracey I think.

It was a great game to be at ( lucky me )lol , Ponga was very good even though another team went head hunting on him AGAIN every week he gits hit high a couple of times .
Pearce had a better game , Lino was good , Jacob was running with venom and hitting in D the same .
It was good to see Fitzy and King score , Was it Kings 1st try in first grade he was always a pretty good defender but his running game is a lot better this year .
The best thing imo about the game was the feeling in the game that our guys wanted to hurt them I loved that .
If we make the finals and do well i think Lino may have a lot to do with that.
The kid is talented he may be a bit small and get brushed off some times in defence but he puts his body on the line and his attack is good and his kicking pretty good to dont worry .
Especially when you think his first game since last season was last week.
Now to watch the game again and see if my impressions at the game were right .

The Brodie Jones try assist is worth a mention.
He has always had that in him. He even played a bunch of games at 5/8 in under 18s.
He has also been a big try scorer for a forward.
He runs some very good lines and makes some very good decisions near the line.
If he gets to play a lot of football over the next few years he'll bring a lot of variation to the team as he gets more comfortable.

His best game easy tonight. He was good.

Warriors here, well done on a good win which helps us as we have the Sharks next week. Their cheap shots will hurt them with suspensions but in any case they seemed to have an chip on their shoulder from the off. In the lowlights Warrior connections Lino and Townsend are ex Warriors and Rudolph back flipped on a deal with us for next year

Yep can’t wait to watch that game. Will be rooting for you guys. Ponga gets under everyone’s skin, he’s a little protected lol

Knights should complain to Sutton about the number of times Ponga is wacked in the head, most of which don't even result in a penalty. Having a Marquee player come off the field looking like a squashed pumpkin isn't a good look, it'll probably happen more and more the better he gets.
