RLWC 2026

Danny 'Bedsy' Buderus

Article about Brian McDermott coaching England in the WC.
Says he will look at any English heritage players who want to play.
Mentions names like Max King, Jayden Brailey, Ben Talty and others.
No mention of Jackson Hastings.
In another article on NRL.COM Someone asked him what he'd learned in his time in the NRL so far and he said they only had an hour for the interview.
He gave a boxing analogy about how you have to play differently against a stronger opponent - implying England will need to find a smart way to beat the leading sides, because they can't go blow for blow with them.

Just saw an ad on channel 7 saying the RLWC will be live and free only on 7 and 7+.
Ad also seemed to say it is all happening in Sydney, but I'm sure I've heard a few games will be in Newcastle.

7 will have to put together a commentary team.

It could be quite refreshing to have a whole new commentary team to listen to.
If I were putting the team together, I'd look hard at Brian Carney.
His accent is easy to understand.
He is a very good commentator in the ESL.
He is well known from his time playing for Newcastle and he's a likable guy.
I might give Sterlo a call too. He might be up for a month or so of work for the right price, and there is no one more respected.

$19 tickets, worth a look for the Sydney games. If only tickets to regular season games were more reasonable like they used to be and not 50 bucks to stand on a hill heh.

Just read that foxtel have agreed to let Voss commentate and 7 are looking at radio commentators like James Graham, Maroon, Luke Keary etc.
