Recruitment And Retention Discussion

There could be a world where we don't resign Jsaf after 27.

28 season you'll have

8. Mooney
10. Hops
15. McEwen
16. Crouch
18. Saulo

Then it'll be about having a yound prop come through to be the Cup back ups.

By 28 I'd wager. Riley Wells, Ashton Allen, Elijah Galloway (From NR Titans), and Devante Hurrell could be knocking on the door.

I have hope in Jack Hilliar and William Bates too, but seems like Hilliar maybe not in plans (somehow) and Bates has been head hunted by other clubs

this is all if, in the end, our cap position is so tight we need all the coin available to retain Sharpe, Hoppy and Crossland

Yeah if I'm engaging with it seriously: No. His market value would be very similar to Dylan Brown's (he's a better player than Dylan, but hookers make less than halves and fullbacks). You don't even think about adding another salary like that for a guy who'll turn 30 the season he arrives, if you haven't already locked down - for as long as possible - the kid you have wearing #6 who'll turn 24 that season, who is *comfortably* the best spine prospect your club has produced since Andrew Johns & Danny Buderus.

Also, lowkey, Phoenix Crossland is pretty high on the list of "best internally developed spine players" for our club too at this point. It matters. Hooker is not a weakness in our roster. Spine talent/creativity generally is not a weakness. You recruit to fill weaknesses, not further bolster strengths.

dylbrown is going to be masive unders with his capped ratchet. sharpe local taking unders? potentially extra cash in there somewhere. its not going to happen but its nice to think about hahah.
Id argue though crosslands pretty one dimensional and certainly has an effect on our go forward.
your right though its surplas to our current needs.

Phoenix brings guys onto the ball really well & missing that + him not leading the line in defence had an effect on our go forward too. A bad one. No shade on Cant there, it is what it is.

Phoenix is a really good hooker.
