Really looking forward to seeing Kurtis Mulherin play for Australian Schoolboys against PNG.
There has been Cody Hopwood type buzz around the 18 year old for a few years, but I never really saw it till the reserve grade final the other day.
He hasn't had a firstgrade preseason yet, but played 5 games of reserve grade and I thought was our most impressive forward on Saturday.
I'll be surprised if they don't do what they did with Hopwood and have him playing reserve grade all next year, and I think his game against Newtown was already as good as Hopwood went last year in reserves, and that was after a proper pre-season.

Some say his younger brother will be just as good.

At the time was a 1000 percent right decision to get rid of him, was a lose cannon and clearly didn't give a crap when on field for us, best for both parties he left.
 
After what we have done this season i will never question Sully's genius again. Does everyone want one more year out of Frizz on speculation that he will last, versus a versatile player six years younger who was recently playing for his country? The ******** around Marata is more a case of Webster carrying on similar to what Stuart did with Mooney. Ask Raiders fans what they thought about Trey being released to keep Papa for another year. There is a difference between dropping a player and just being a little precious cos they are leaving. Marata did not miss a game last year for the Warriors. Had hammy issues over the off season. Why would he kill himself in Cup and risk injury knowing he is about to join a team on the rise and then some? He knows he has his work cut out for him. Exactly what we want here.

I fully expect Sully to lock Sharpe and Frisco into long term deals before next November.

I agree POS has done an incredible job, although he's not infallible and has the occasional swing and miss. Taj Annan is one that comes to mind. A few others have come as depth but not really contributed like Peter Hola and Asu Kepaoa. Marcus D'Acre and Kingston Seven just didn't work out.
 
Reserve grade just made a prelim, even with a bunch of the guys who have played on that team this season moving up to FG.

Some of the guys on that list might not play much FG at the Knights, but they're certainly not out of contention in 27.

Taj Annan is a success story imo; POS gets in a player who ticks a lot of boxes on paper- size, potential, local and moves him on quickly in a mutually beneficial way when it doesn't work out.
 
Really scraping the barrel if we're naming Hola and Kepaoa as among his big misses. They were depth signings who played well in the best reserve grade team we've had in almost a decade, which was equally as injury hit as first grade. Their lack of NRL game time is more of a testament to the development of the young players than it is an indictment on those two.

Annan was a miss, although evidently a pretty easily fixable one. Wil Sullivan could maybe be called a miss but hard to predict that a bloke is going to have half a dozen head knocks within six months of arriving.

I agree with all of that except for the word size. He had height, but it was amazing how little muscle that guy had. His legs looked like the corner posts. He really thought gym was just a lawn mowing service. When he did a hammy I asked how you strain a muscle that doesn't exist.
 
The POS strategy is pretty obvious now.
He signs guys like Francis and Taj Annan and Marcus Dacre and Tom Perkins and Sione Haukina and Aiden Gow who are all very gifted physical specimens, and gives them to the coaches to turn into footballers.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it doesn't.

The difference with most of those guys and Annan is that Taj went straight in to the top 30 on a longish deal.
