Also, it's usually not too bad to get out of Sydney from Parramatta the Carlingford/Pennant Hills way vs the route which goes more towards the city centre. Probably one of the better drives to Taree available besides signing for Newy.

Thinking about cost of property, I wonder how much better off he would be living in Sydney at $850k per Newie at $600k, plus lifestyle.
Being his come from Taree, Canberra, Newie and NZ hope he ways all that up, as a country boy it took me 10 years to get adjusted to Sydney and I lived in the shire!

Winter is super talented. Though, you'd hope he starts excelling at centre ahead of fullback or elsewhere. The club obviously view him as a centre but also are clearly trying to make a centre out of him, otherwise he'd be playing fullback or 5/8th.
Takes very special athlete to pull up to FG and look dangerous with the ball at centre. Gagai used to make a mess of opposition teams in QLD Cup at centre, at that time he was probably 20 yo, though, Winter is still 18.

Says he trained with firstgrade for 6 weeks in pre-season and will go back to training with firstgrade after the Ball season.
You'd assume from that that he will do what Votano and Hopwood did at the same age (last year) and play mostly reserve grade.
Article says he was a massive Uate fan as a kid, so much so that his family and him went to Uate's home village when on holiday in Fiji - which is a pretty random thing to do.
I was thinking the other day that he reminds me very much of Brad Tighe in the Knights juniors. You get the same feeling that anything could happen when Winter gets the ball as you got when Brad Tighe was playing Ball for us. Tighe ended up playing 171 NRL games over 10 years, so I think Winter would be happy to match that.
