Recruitment And Retention Discussion

I have read somewhere that Taj Annan has only 1 year left on his contract and 2027 is a Club Option... meaning that letting him go early isn't a terrible idea, let the kid go make some money in that Rugby 360 in a sport he's okay at compared to league.

I've never payed that much attention to Wishart before.
He seems very talented.
Hard to think what his best position would be.
14 much like Connor Watson who is probably best at 9. 14 position can be as important as a spine position these days if used correctly

One of zero tackles best I will pull p00 out of no where articles.

Not sure what my favourite part is, Sullivan to mentor halves at bulldogs, bloke is the definition of park footballer.

Or the assumption panthers want Cogger again.

Jake Arthur is so damn strong, and his speed is impressive.

The opposition fears his agility. You genuinely can't really compete with that kicking game of his.

He makes incredibly clever decisions. His mind operates like Magnus Carlsen.

I'm just glad he earned his position, and isn't a consequence of nepotism.

That is for those that enjoy their delusional optimism.

Jake Arthur is an awful signing.

He is slow, weak, and has plenty of poor / average kicks in him. His passes are often average, and you don't see too many cerebral actions.

He has only been like this for about five years.

Manly definitely won on that exchange.
Manly now have an injured fringe forward who is unlikely to play this year. One who was clearly not in our plans as we lowballed him for a contract extension. Both players were off contract at the same time. Which part of that is a win for Manly?

Calling out non-existent fans gushing over Arthur is a hilarious way to criticise others for being "delusional".

I sense a touch of sarcasm here?
Not helpful in our current predicament.
Will possibly be a Cup back up in 2926?

More than I expected but maybe that’s POS finally feeling the pinch a bit after missing out on Latu and Pahulu for less money.

Although Mooney has been a better NSW Cup player than Pahulu in QCup, which is of a lower standard, and there’s a lot more data on Mooney’s side than Latu. We kind of know what to expect from him right now and he has plenty of room to grow.

Agreed, it also helps Mooney is someone who can come in and right away challenge for that starting role.

I do agree that POS might be feeling the burn a bit so he needs to make sure he grabs Mooney

Yeah can’t exactly object, I’ve coveted him for years at this point. Also notable that Raiders fans are not happy to see him squeezed out. Hope we get it done!

In a sense we’re lucky the Raiders are on such a tear right now, they’re usually a club that looks a few years down the road with their recruitment decisions and they definitely wouldn’t be extending Papali’i if they were having another mid year. And Mooney would likely be playing every week. Their form has them thinking about maximising the current window.

Mooney will be our starter with J-Saf though so $500k for him or $800k for Leo he getting next year and what Leo has put out for us this year seems a good deal

Not being able to crack Raiders side this year when on top of table and haven’t had any injuries doesn’t mean much

J.Saf and Mooney starting with Crokes/Friz/Saulo off bench is instantly better than the rotation we had for most of this year
