The fact that the first 3 rounds we looked like making a run deep Into the finals by no stretch of the Imagination.

It well and truly felt like It.

Also, Dominic Young.

Someone needs to put that guy where he Is getting 200 touches a game, no word of exageration. I love the kid and I hope he Is a one club man here at Newcastle and gets to win a premiership with us.
 
Crocker, Young, Pongs, Mapa, Edrick. Saf in Origin. Sasagi. Peter Parr signing is promising.

In those first 3 rounds, in hindsight, you could argue we played an underdone Roosters side who are re-nouned for starting seasons slowly. And we all know about the tigers.

But that game against Penrith, we were in it until the Barney incident. Even playing with the twelve men we showed some good character. So did that just disappear or the above?

Dom Young and Klem were our best two players. I'm not sure where else you would put him. He wouldn't get more touchs on the wing than centers, and he's not near a full-back yet.

Keep him on the wing, he's a good yardage man, and becoming a good finisher. Pretty good defender too, just needs help from his inside man. He needs to work on the highball in the off-season. Once he sorts that he going to get better next season.
 
Try scored in the Flegg final last week.
Two youngest guys in the team combined.
Both of them played Harold Mathews last year.
The pass went behind Ethan Ferguson on the wing and he reached back and pulled it in one handed without slowing down. The cover defence had him lined up, so he casually put in a kick ahead for Fletcher Sharpe who took it on the full and streaked away untouched.

That would be in the top handful of Knights tries this year, scored by a couple of 17/18 year olds.

Too hard to say this year - pretty much most of the Flegg side will be good enough to play reserves or firsts in the next year or two.
In the Toohey interview today he asked O'Brien about juniors and listed half the Flegg side, and O'Brien said he's had all the ones listed training with the top squad already and will give them a pre-season.

Sounds very positive
 
Biggest positive this season is our WNRL team. Isn't it nice to have a competitive team that shows all the things that our NRL lack, players that actually seem like they give a damn about the outcome. We have 17 year old who is killing it in her first season as our 7. I do exclude a couple of NRL players from the no heart team. I think Dom had a great season, Klem tried hard every game, and Edrick was great when he finally came back and I wish we had kept him. The rest of them...useless including all coaching staff.
