Panthers academy

[danknights]

Had the pleasure of touring the Panthers academy today, from the front desk to the back gate was very impressive. All the boys I talked too were a bloody fantastic bunch of blokes. You can see the comradery is at another level. The staff were nothing short of accommodating to my nosey-ness aswell so I applaud them for that.

The grade boys were also ready for a chat. I tried to convince Dylan Edwards to come to Newcastle but he just laughed at me. All in all I enjoyed the experience. You can see why they are the cream at the top.

Thanks for the great insight Dan... the building blocks they laid down several years ago through a combo of long term strategic planning and development via Gus, the 'luck' in junior development of bringing through 'clusters' of talented players developed together and having the right personnel in people like Cameron Ciraldo, Ivan Cleary, etc. that has allowed and fostered that culture building.

And nice try with Dylan btw...BUT you could also have had a sly word with Isaiah Yeo and a few others while you were there too

Sunia Turuva looks like a deadset gun but will never be first choice over their current fullback and wingers, maybe work out a player swap for us next time you visit? You reckon those blokes would be keen on Crossland or Mann?

What gus has built there over a period has reaped the benefits and will for a number of years to come.

Haha not many grade boys were in but if I ever get back around and some top liners are in I'll be sure to pass on the feedback.

Haha I actually had a good chat too sunny. Such a humble fella. Loves his family so much who are mostly settled in the west. Don't think he is leaving anytime soon unfortunately. Things change though.....
