I think the reason Brown wants to replace Mullen with Lamb is because he is looking to the future.
It's hard to see Mullen being in the picture for 2018 and beyond, and very easy to see Lamb reaching his potential about then.

Brown wasted no opportunity to bag Mullen during the year while the golden boy Hodko was spared any criticism.
Then we hear Mullen is spending 50% of his time training at hooker, which isn't something you do for fun with your first choice half.
All signs point to his time at 5/8th being limited.

I said it before and ill say it again... JT, joey,Cronk, freddy, locky, would of looked like no bodies in our team this yr.
Its a team of kids being thrown into the hardest comp on the planet with little to no real leadership at all in 2016

Incorrect, Joey dominated and played well behind some pretty average no frills packs. The others, fair enough except for maybe fred

Mullen and shocking might miss enough time that the others get a crack anyway. If he can hurt his hamstring doing some simple drills what's to say it won't happen again...
I think the transition is as close to as good as you can get. Brown would probably be hoping that Mullen and Hodko are off contract this year but hopefully the developement of the others are enough

Musing a bit, how come other teams with young rosters AKA Tigers seem to be able to compete yet we don't?

Tigers are 3 or 4 years further down the track.

Tedesco - 24
Brooks - 22
Moses - 22
Nofoaluma - 23
Woods - 25
Taylor - 26

They have also finished 13th, 15th, 9th over the last three years and gave us our only win of 2016, if you call that competing.

Ummm what?

97 gf best pack in the comp.

01 gf one of the best packs in the comp.

Perry and Parsons we're not the best but did a job, BK was the best backrowers in the game at the time, Simpson whom i played a lot with during juniors at the club was brilliant, peden was always there when u needed him to be. Grief was a hard nut as was Marquet. Add bedsy coming into his prime Then a gun backline

Bro, Joey really showed his class at the end of his career, 03-07', when his club side was competitive despite being filled with nuffies.. Something no one else has been able to do in the modern era (carry an entire team)

Agree Kenny, that last year he got us to the finals were Brisbane put 60 on us was ridiculous he got us that far, we were literally using 2nd and 3rd choice options in most positions and Gids was our 4th choice fullback at the time.

BK would be the best backrower if he was still playing he was a very special player i was heart broken when he left for manly

Just stop please. You have NFI.

Funny that, because yo mumma says the exact opposite

But while we're here, I'll correct my statement by adjusting his age by two years to the year he won the Daly M lol--my statement then becomes exactly true

Please forgive such an oversight, you must have been outraged..

Considering ur statements point in the first place, id say ur highly wrong!

And backing it up with a mumma joke = child.

Well after a nice discussion with Sau who was very knowledgeable on the topic, it came to light that Cooper Cronk did perform well as a half, when given an opportunity through injury etc, from the age of 20 onwards--hence the reason he was given the vital position of halfback when it was vacated by their star halfback, Orford. And the 6 was filled by veteran Hill who wasn't about to lose his spot to a kid

So the arguement that cooper cronk was a weak and ineffectual footballer before the age of 22 isn't supportable. Considering also that in his first year playing permanently in the halves he won the Daly M

It would seem most likely that he was a great little halfback before he got opportunity--it wasn't just an occurance of magic, 88

And the essential point, if you want to bring it to that, was that Cogger has already been given a significant opportunity and didn't exactly light the place up--Cronk on the other hand won a Daly M upon his first real opportunity

Please don't resort to mum jokes they're make you look desperate for creativity.

Jeez what a bunch of easily offended people we have here. And offended on other people's behalf, no less

Mum jokes are a select go-to, guys. Reserved for a select special type of subject. Cowboyman should be entertained by that type of banter

But look, if he says he was offended and that it actually upset him, ill gladly retract it!

No he didn't win the Daly M a couple years into his first grade career. May of been named Halfback of the year at the Daly M's but didn't win the actual Dally M.

That's a massive oversight there to continue on from your original statement of Cronk dominating at 20. Maybe in Q-Cup but certainly not 1st Grade when he was debuting off the bench as a utility.

Daly M halfback.. he must have really sucked at 22

And look, I'll come clean. I watched an old Storm match from 05' where Cronk was playing in the halves. I'm certain Offord wasn't on the field so he was perhaps playing at 7

He did dominate the game. Looked much like the player he is today. And he did kick a 40/20 haha. If you guys want to know which game it is maybe you could research stats to find out in which games he hit 40/20's between 2004-05'

Actually, thats not true, Orford was playing

He got a dally M for half back of the yr at 24 thats 6yrs on Coggar pea brain! Why dont u use that thing called "GOOGLE" to see what Cronk was doing at 18yrs old and compair it if you want apples with apples.
Coggar isnt ready for fulltime nrl and if he was at any of the other 15 clubs he would be at least 3yrs away from a dabut!! But his here and he did ok considering the class of the team around him.

Please it's doing my head in this continual mentioning of Cogger and Cronk in the sane sentence. Anyone who's comparing Cogger to Cronk on what we've seen has a very vivid imagination.
