Official Team v Raiders

Every move can be explained? Well I cant see that. On some weeks yes, on other weeks no. And to see Ciraldo dropped for Lulia....well i'd like to see that happen cos I cant.

Well if people read my posts R.e. Ciraldo over the last 2 months, they would have seen some logical explanations as to why Ciraldo is consistently in the team. I've hardly defended the bloke on here, just provided insight into why I think Stone makes certain selections.

Explain which weeks you dont understand the selections of Ciraldo, and I'll try and help you out.

Also, I'd love to know why you think a fit Taia would be held out of the side for Ciraldo. They wouldnt be bringing him back from a serious injury this soon if they didnt plan on playing him in first grade

Why should a centre who has played only one game at second row be placed above Ciraldo who has been playing alright footy as of late? Against a huge Canberra pack?

Sure he cops hate which is mostly unwarranted but Lulia shouldn't be ahead of him in my eyes.

Depends what Stone is looking for in his bench I suppose.

Would you rather have cover for an injury to Maddog, or injury cover for Housten/Costigan. All capable of playing 80minutes, or close to it. Then you have to weigh up whether or not in the 20-30 minutes Lulia/Ciraldo are likely to play if all goes to plan, would you rather to have an attacking weapon like Lulia, or a guy like Ciraldo who is more use to defending closer in.

In attack you could put any established back at second row and they would do I good job, Uate hits it up like a front rowers.

So if a player like him played off the bench would you expect him in the front row because he can attack well?

Against a pack like Canberra I don't think he could be effective in defence. A good defence is a good offence.

Anyone who thinks Lulia is better in defence is... A hater.

Against a smaller pack I'd really consider it, but when Taia is back everyone can cheer and throw a party because Ciraldo will most likely not be in the team. Even if he is Stone's so called 'lovechild'. Meaning a bench spot for Lulia wouldn't be needed.

Not sure how he'd handle the work load, but I honestly think Lulia is technically a very good tackler. Positioning might be a weakness for him as he's not a specialist second rower, but I would back Lulia to stop someone over Ciraldo tbh, and I'm honestly not a hater.

Ciraldo has been quite good over the last few weeks, but he is still prone to some defensive errors, like the one that led to a Prince try. Not saying Lulia would have stopped it or anything, but it's a bit of a stretch to say that's being a hater if someone thinks Lulia is a better defender

When I questioned Ciraldo's inclusion over Southern the reply was because Southern is a lock and Ciraldo is a 2nd rower. The very next week Ciraldo plays lock. What did Southern do to be behind Ciraldo in the lock pecking order ? They are footballers not robots. I have seen and coached half backs that became representative wingers. Tafua is better at every aspect of rugby league than Ciraldo. He also has a bit of mongrel in him while Ciraldo is about as intimidating as a Girl Guide selling cookies. If Canberra turn up ready to play Mark Tafua would have been very handy coming off the bench. As for he's not in our plans next year the same can be said for, De Goise, Ciraldo, Lulea.

When did Ciraldo play lock? Housten played lock on the w/e.

At an overlap, in the open etc of course you would back Lulia because he is a back.

I meant more as a tight in the middle tackler, which imo Lulia couldn't handle but yeah I do see where you are coming from.

Well I'd be pretty f*cking intimidated if Ciraldo was running at me

Its interesting Rick Stone has avoided pushing Neville Costigan into the front row for the remainder of the season. Id assume Wayne Bennett will be playing him in combination with Kade Snowden next season. Is Neville a better prop then Evarn, Antonio or Richie? Thoughts..

A voice of reason...

Costigan won't be playing front row this year or next.

For all the bad games Ciraldo has had and never been dropped I highly doubt they'll drop him after he has been going good...

PS has anyone had a look at the centurions forward pack....pretty good for NSW Cup all xp-semi xp fg players....
