Official: Knights sign Mitchell Pearce on a 4 year deal

If you were making a million dollar decision that effects your entire future, you'd meet everyone and give full consideration to all options. Be mad not to.

Would this make Brock Lamb out of favour of Pearce signs on seeing as though Watson is the running 5/8th Brown has wanted all along...

you would think if a deal was done with manly or cronulla it would of been announced pretty quickly jus like the green to warriors anouncement. i think we are a bigger chance then the media are making out..... or maybe thats just false hope on my behalf.
I tend to agree.

I would assume Lamb would make way for Pearce if he signed with us. But who knows, it may come down to whoever has the best pre-season out of the two to partner pearce.

The only reason i could see Pearce signing with us is to avoi the pressure of having to win a premiership. Though given the critique on his ability to win pressure games, many would see signing with us as running away, but from his personal perspective, maybe he would also.

We should know before the week is out I would think.

I'm in two minds about Pearce, as a person, I think he's an immature dill, on the field, he has got talent, but just can't seem to climb that extra step to elevate him to the position of great. I think he'd add to the Knights, but I'd hate to lose Lamb, who has still a heap of unused potential. If we could keep Lamb and use Pearce for his experience and as mentor, it may be win win, for both the club and Pearce.....this is his chance to mature both on and off the field, if he stays in Sydney, he's forever known as a "could'a been", if he comes to the Knights, he just might achieve greatness.

Watson would play 5/8. They said all along they want a running 5/8 and Lamb doesnt suit that at all. Hopefully we can entice lamb to stay with him knowing he gets a chance to learn off somone like Pearce and is first choice back up!

Watson can play bench utility/hooker/lock/half/fullback. It's been his role at the roosters.
The obvious lineup if we got Pearce would be 6 Lamb, 7 Pearce, 9 Levi, 14 Watson

I like this not sure if it would happen though. All of them in the team would be best for us

The love for Watson on here reaches delusional levels at times.
He has played 10 games as a starting 5/8 and been the junior partner in the halves in all of them, and lost most of them.
Lamb is little more than a rookie, but he has played a whole season as senior halves partner in our team - he has 4 times the experience of Watson as a half and is a younger and more talented player.
Watson is a proven utility. It's where he has mostly played, and where he has looked good.

I wouldn't mind seeing
6. Lamb
7. Pearce
9. Watson
14. Levi
With Levi coming on after 20mins so we can utilise his running game and then Watson put where needed.

Problem is he was promised the starting 5/8 spot when he signed. You think with the money we signed him for they will play him off the bench? Then the question is would he stay if he doesn't get the 5/8 spot
