Ben Kennedy was 1 of our best ever back rowers and Newcastle cried when he left , the guy gave 110% every game even though he allways seemed to be carrying an injury .... but he was never a local at all..

With Barba gone for 1/2 of next season my bet is holmes will play f.b for the sharks and imo Barba may never get it back off him so there goes the little chance we had of signing Holmes so maybe we should bite the bullet and go all out for Ponga ...

Barba has been given the boot from the sharks so I agree Holmes will be playing FB and that we should make a massive play for Ponga.

From Barry Toohey's article today - Kalyn Ponga and his family are in Newcastle for the weekend, meeting with club officials, touring the facilities and checking out Newcastle. Knights will likely be able to match or beat any other clubs offers. Also the Mamo/Wardle swap is still likely to happen.
