Official: Knights sign David Klemmer for 5 years

It's ironic all this 'times have changed' 'klemmer leaving for the money etc' amongst other nonsense when the Bulldogs were fine with their manager mate who didnt act in the best interests of his client signing the Mata'utia bros over a year in advanced without the Knights knowledge or consent, as well as signing Des Hasler a year in advance under the noses of Manly right after they won the Grand Final.

But now the shoe is on the other foot its 'poor us'. Even though no one brings up the fact that Boyd pretty much quit on the Knights and kicked and screamed until his got what he wanted.

Nope, not buying it

No sympathy from me

Knights had to work hard to repair the mistakes made by previous coaches and owners both roster wise, salary cap wise and finances wise so harden up doggies and your fans until all the dead money is gone.

Geez cry me a river Mbye. It's a business and has been for a long time. These articles always talk about the players breaking contracts, but the clubs are just as bad. If a player no longer fits a clubs plans they find themselves on the outer very quickly.

The game is to keep your stars happy, pay them well and try to piece together a competent team around them.

Pretty sure that’s what Mbye is saying... he wasn’t complaining at all.

Long time reader, first time commenter, but doesnt brown love a versatile team? With graham playing Lock, Five-eighth, Second-row
Welcome to the forum :)
True he does! Just feel its one area he is happy with. But def wouldnt complain with the idea

We are good for second rowers - Sione, Barnett, Buhrer, Jones, Stone and Fermor all deserve a run at some stage next year, and if Fitz and Guerra stay fit all year, they are probably all fighting over 1 bench spot.

I agree that we probably don't need Graham as I would have Ese'ese at lock , BUT Wade Graham is better than all these Sione, Barnett, Buhrer, Jones, Stone and Fermor combined ...

He’d be an upgrade but I think, as good as he is, the Club might be hesitant now that’s he’s done his ACL. Obviously we have other players who’ve recovered from injury, but I get the sense that it was the reason we baulked at some players (such as Kahu) after lucking out Slade and Moga.

And his small, Brownie likes big boys.

According to Sir Toohey, Klemmer has agreed a 4-year deal with us and is expected to be released in the next week, as he’s due to start training on 3 December. We’re also unlikely to chase any high profile recruits for 2020 due to our already full roster, but that might change if player movement takes off again.

Does not say he has signed, in fact it says the opposite. That the contract is still to be signed. Negotiated it has been.

It's a forgone conclusion though, Klem will not want to be sitting around not doing anything once he is supposed to be training again, and regardless of whether dogs have napa or anybody else he will be released this week.
