Ended up winning 24-20.

Following a similar path to the NSW Cup game, two tries in the final 10min seals the comefrom behind victory.

The Manly/Newcastle Half/Full double on the cards for First grade? pays decent money.

How did Geordie go for anyone that watched it?

Didn't do much.

Chris Knight caused a fair bit of trouble.

It was a well balanced game... we just did enough in the end.

Tyler Sullivan scored two long range tries including the 90m solo to take the lead.

Alloimai was strong up front in his return.

This team looks promising, if they can all stay on the park.

Ahh righto. I hope they give him a shot at fullback or five eighth before seasons end, he is playing out of position out wide, much better in the middle third of the field ballplaying.

Our two classiest players stood up to be counted.

Ethan cook topped the tackle count (37), topped the number of runs (18 for 151 metres), topped the offloads (5) - while Tyler Sullivan topped the metres gained (168 from 5 runs), topped the line breaks (4) and topped the try scoring (2).

We have a lot of talented players, but those two have always been a cut above.

The other standout point for me was Chris Knight doing 21 tackles and missing none in his half a game. He has always been an incredible dummy half, but last year the little guy really couldn't defend at NYC level.
This year it looks like Chad Redman is the best 18 year old hooker in Australia, and the second best at the Knights.

We are a big fan of the young guys, I have just looked at the stats and Chad Redman seems to be spending some time off the oval. Why?Also why is the coach put players out of poistion?Ethan Cook should have got every award yesterday as I believe that defence wins the game.Chris Knight and Chad Redman have been playing nyc for 2 years.Well done.

Maybe because it's working?

We have won 2/3 and only lost to the favourites of the competition by 4 points.

Chad Redman seems to be spending some time off the oval. Why?
Chris Knight is a fantastic little dummy half and deserves time on the field, which means Chad has to come off.
Chris has great vision and he spots a gap and scoots through it better than any young hooker i've seen. He is also great at running to the line and delivering great passes.
In both those areas he is better than Chad.
Chad has a bigger motor and is a much, much better defender. He can go hard for 80 minutes and top the tackle count, as he showed many times last year.
With a bit of luck Chad will develop the same dummy half skills as Chris and Chris to get the same fitness, strength and heart that Chad has. If they both do that, they'll both play firstgrade - they are both big talents.

He is playing guys out of position because we have 6 quality halves (Roberts, Sullivan, Smith, Connelly, Pewhairangi and Taufaao) who could all be anything, and not many standout centres or wingers.

Do you reckon Connelly will get a go in the 6 sometime this year Roopy?
No - but he probably will in the next 3 years because he has plenty of time.
The really unlucky guy is Api Pewhairangi - one of our best last year and in his last year of NYC and he can't get a run, even out of position.
