Fulltime

NYC Newcastle Knights 38
Tries: Harmony Hunt, Tyrone Roberts (2) Peter Mata'utia, Josh Allomai, Will Smith (2)
Goals: Tyrone Roberts 4/5 Will Smith 1/2

NYC Warriors 10
Tries: Bill Tupou, Sosaia Feki
Goals: Shaun Johnson 1/2

Knights first try: Defending on their line, the Knights were on the backfoot. Peter Mata'utia runs off his line fast and intercepts a pass to race 80m before setting up Harmony Hunt who scores under the sticks. Tyrone Roberts converts.

Knights second try: A try out of nothing in field. A nice right foot step by Will Smith causes a 40m break before he threw the ball to Roberts who scores next to the posts. Kick converted by Roberts.

Knights third try: Adrian Davis makes a half break and throws it wide to Will Smith who runs 40m along the sideline before kicking infield to Peter Mata'utia who makes a brilliant pick up on the run. Conversion successful.

Halftime.

18 - 4.

Knights fourth try: Simple tap on play 10m out of the tryline sends Allomai over under the posts. Conversion successful.

24 - 10

Knights fifth try: Good backline raid, simple catch and pass sends Will Smith over for a well deserved try. Roberts misses his first goal.

28 - 10

Knights sixth try: Poor defence by the Warriors, Tyrone Roberts score one of the easiest tries 10m out. Will Smith converts.

8 to go.

Knights seventh try: Neat grubber by Tyrone Roberts put down by Will Smith for his second. Misses the conversion.

Fulltime.

Were looking good
Forwards not concentrating way to many lost ball though, though we are really muscling up in defense
4 play makers on the field is quite intereting (smith, roberts, simpson, davis)
Man of the half is Will smith hes looked very good on his few touches, Rodney Mason is looking quite good also

The guy we have supposedly signed from warriors look quite dangerous as well

Those of you wanting Roberts in first grade need you're eyes check. No where near it.

Edit: Proving me wrong in the last 15 minutes, but didnt think he was all that good this game.

Big Josh Aiolomai is dominating the Warriors. He should be training with our FG team and building his fitness. He looks like a great prospect to eventually come into our top team and maybe fill a few holes at prop.

Our halves played well, Roberts, Smith and Davis. They had figured out the Warriors compressed defence and had them constantly back peddling with short kicks behind the line.

Matautia had a blinder, other than one missed tackle which led to a try he was superb. Attack wise he is stunning and knows how to position himself defensively. Problem here is that we have Kurt, I can't see Matautia taking his spot so I guess it'll be likely he could be snapped up by other clubs.

Ethan Cook and Zane Tetevano are great on the fringes, both have ball playing skills and were solid in defence. Tetevano though looks as though he's done his ankle so that's the end of him.

Great game by our NYC.

Was hard for Roberts to get involved other play makers simpson and Davis were involved in alot of the plays he didnt really get his hands on the ball that much. He created a try from nothing towards the end

Commentators said it was a virus keeping him out last week??? not a no show???

Will Smith sniped a good try and put in a MOTM performance.

Forwards looked good Aiolomai is a big guy wana see him get alot more ball though.

If Likiliki is to sign with us i think Harmony hunt would be the centre to lose his place he is quite player gets his work done but lacks flair from what ive seen. Likilkik was attracting lots of defence each time he ran the ball.

Simpson reminds me a little of Preston Campbell he sums up the situations well form dummy half

Was a good game considering last week

This team should definatly make the top 8 so knights fans will get some final football

Id rather Kurt - Peter than Kurt - Shannon/wes
But both wes and shannon have another year to run on contracts so losing peter is a big possibility

Not sure how the club would solve this problem

Sounds like the NYC boys had a good game. From what I've heard Mata'utia was a stand out once again.

Will Smith was easily MOTM IMO, despite playing in a position i've never seen him play (centre).
I've never been a fan, but he is having an amazing season. He started Ball at fullback and out of favour, but forced his way into the halves with great performances and was close to our best in Ball by the end of the season, and now he is going from strength to strength in NYC.
Today he scored 2 and set up 2 fantastic tries after making line breaks. His cross field kick on the run that finished a metre from the goal posts was perfect.

He looks very good from what I've seen. Looks like he has what it takes to play first grade, in a couple of years.

Will Smith was great today, I like him a lot. It was a great win by the NYC boys overall, I was really happy because throughout the entire game they had control.

He looks very good from what I've seen. Looks like he has what it takes to play first grade, in a couple of years.

He played SG Ball and the games I saw I would have to say was nothing. My bro and I were laughing today at how well he is playing because he really wasn't that good.

The commentators were saying smith was playing FG for west in local league
Thats gotta be good for his credentials
Maybe next season he can establish himself and get a kicking game
