Stats don’t always tell a true story though - I might be unpopular with this but Hopwood also missed 4 tackles and 4 ineffective tackles. I think one of the missed led to a try? I was at the game and thought he exposes weaknesses that I still feel need correcting. I was dissapointed in him as well as Crouch. Raiders were not great - we could have run rings around them.

I was watching that game and it looked like they kept Hopwood out for a long time and I thought I saw him switch to lock as well, I remember ESL off and Hopwood stayed on and it looked like he moved into lock.

I could be wrong but it looked that way, Stats also show Hopwood with the longest first stint out of all of the props easily, it could have contributed to tiredness and that would explain why a normally good defender is missing tackles.

I do agree there - I found we left it way too late to get some interchange happening. I know they are top of the ladder but that’s poor coaching? Or it could be we expect more from these boys with 90% of them full time training.

Can someone please give me a rundown on Hagan? I know absolutely nothing about him, other than he had a good game last time he played. Thanks in advance

He played his first year of SG Ball last year and was good, but not spectacular.
I think it was the Country V City under 18s game where he really looked to be something special. I thought he was the best player on the field in a beaten side. He was in everything and pretty much running his side from dummy half.
He got a firstgrade pre-season this year at 18 and has obviously thrived with the extra training, because he's good enough for reserve grade and could probably do a short spell in firstgrade right now. Kind of looks like the 3rd Brailey brother.
