Jack Thompson scored an individual try by kicking for himself - very similar to several he scored for us in AJ Cup a few years ago. Loves to back himself.

Sees them both into the finals - Knights in 3rd

Very slow game - no urgency from either side

Must be this year by what the commentators were saying.

They tried top 6 last year, but that's a terrible format - sees the team coming second have a bye in the first final and then have to play the 3rd placed team in hot form, so they lose nearly every time.
 
First semi is 3rd placed Knights v 2nd placed Bears 3pm Saturday at Saint George oval

The winner gets to play the Panthers for a spot in the GF.

The loser plays the winner of the Jets v Warriors knockout game
 
Elijah failed his HIA on the weekend apparently so he won’t be playing
Also be interesting to see if Hola or Jones are named to play tomorrow with the injuries in first grade

NSWRL isn't giving the team lists for either semi final for some reason - there must be some dispute about who is able to play or something.
 
Don’t know if it still exist but was a rule that qualifying for Cup semis you had to play x amount of games over so many weeks but was not considered if 1sts qualified for semis.
The bye for this weekend changes it all otherwise we could play all of 1sts in Cup, highly unlikely
Think you select your top 17 fit players for firsts and then select your Cup side with remaining fit players.
 
Pretty good side considering the huge injury toll 1sts and Cup, just a good showing will do for both Cup and 1sts, am happy we are in it anything close to a good result will do
 
Saw an interview with Gudgeon from Norths on the Pacific Sports show and he basically said a lot of the guys playing for Norths this year are training their backsides off in the hope of getting a spot in the WA side next year. He said he trained all off season and has now got a 6 week train and trial deal.
Anyway, he said they will be giving it everything they have to win the title this year, and maybe get an NRL chance.
