Kukutai is having some big runs and looks much fitter than last year. She hasn't stopped working since she came on. She'll be good this year.
 
Vette-Welsh faceplanted trying to pick up a grubber on the Raiders first try, got ran over by a prop on their second and threw one of the slowest and most telegraphed intercepts you'll see. Rough start. Not much else to say in the backs, not much impact.

In the forwards I thought Romaniuk was the best of the starting middles with Davison & Predebon both offering little, and then Kukutai off the bench has looked the best out of all the them. Kirkpatrick looking like good depth behind Clydsdale & McEwen, and Finau looks more than ready physically (only on a development deal but don't think it'll be long before she's a regular in NRLW).

Kukutai looks the big improver and might be our best middle now.
Lilly White looked better at fullback than Welsh, but got a concussion near the end - maybe worse because she spent a lot of time feeling her jaw.
18 might be Yeo - good player - very involved.
 
Just watched the game. Agree that Romanuik and Kukatai were the best middles. Thought Willison was good too.

Bo had a shocker, hopefully just rusty but I think white takes her spot sooner rather than later.

Watching Higgins, it’s crazy to me she didn’t get a run in Origin. She has such good vision. I think she could put forwards over for tries with her eyes closed. She doesn’t overplay her hand. When she goes herself, she more often than not scores. She’s not very fast or that athletic but when she runs, they’re always effective. She could give the 9s in the men’s side a few lessons. They have none of that. To think, she only picked up the sport in her mid twenties. She’s done so well.

Surprised Finau isn’t in top squad, she looks ready now.

Seems like we have a lot of depth which is pleasing.

Looking forward to the season starting and hope Jesse has a really big year.

Says Romaniuk and Lilly White went for scans for facial injuries and were both cleared of long term injuries.
