NRLW 2026

Interesting that Brigginshaw's lawyer tried to argue it was a one-on-one steal that went wrong. A bit of a stretch.

I think the length of the season argument is fair, but the tackle was horrendous. That said, even without an early plea, it is fair to note her clean record and contribution to the game, so 3 games seems reasonable on what would have been a 4-game ban otherwise. Still should have been sent on the day, though.

Henry Peranara subbed in for Tasha Gale to avoid a conflict of interest, as she was commentating on the match. Lucky then Ali wasn't a Knight, she would have probably got life without parole.

Not sure who this ref is in the Dogs v Cows match, but she's one of the better NRLW refs. Very clear, consistent, organised and seems to get most of the calls right on the money.

Also, penalty > set restart, which is a nonsense the NRL should get rid of.

Travel is harder for clubs like Newcastle, Canberra & North Queensland. Compounding that, the only good club which has been assigned both its toughest road trips is us:

Brisbane: Canberra only
Sydney: North Queensland only
Titans: Newcastle only
Wahs: Canberra only
Knights: Both NZ and North Queensland

Also don’t get either Sydney or Brisbane at home.

On top of the inability to buy a penalty no matter what’s done to them, surely even slots would have to acknowledge it’s all a bit weird. Not meaningfully different from what we’d see if the NRL was putting the thumb on the scale to keep the Knights down.

Last year we played the Warriors and Roosters at home. The year before we played the Roosters and Broncos at home. The year before we played 6 home games and 3 away, with the biggest trip being to Canberra. We've never played the Cowboys in Newcastle but the club requests for that to be the case. We've largely had a favourable draw for years because we're one of the only clubs that can (or could) draw a crowd. Can't always be that way.

What a nice play there for the Raiders...Tamika whinging about an obstruction a mile away from the play is icing on the cake.

The disparity in the rosters doesn't show up quite so much when you don't get every call go your way.
