NRLW 2026

I wonder what the go is with Evah McEwen? She hasn’t played all year but she’s not listed as an injured player either. Saw her at Glendale a couple of weeks ago mid-week which I thought was weird, thought she’d be living in Sydney now

The last I heard was that she returned to Sydney with a partner and was to play for the Bulldogs this year.
 
Our game against the Warriors next week comes at a bad time.
They haven't been good so far - losing to a few mid table sides like Titans and Canberra, but I think they finally started to click in the second half of their game today, and a home game in NZ makes it even harder.
I think it will be a 50/50 game for us.
 
I actually turned on the Broncos v Bulldogs game just as Ali Brigginshaw was being sent to the bin and didn't see what she went for. Just saw it; how it wasn't a straight send-off is beyond me. If she wasn't a Bronco does she get sent?

A dangerous throw of a player in a headlock who lands on her head/neck. The potential for catastrophic injury was high. She deserves a long suspension.

Just saw it, Jesus how was that not a send-off? Lucky Preston is ok, that could have ended horribly.

She should be suspended for the remainder of the regular season. Seriously doubt she will be but I think anyone else would (not from the Bronx or Roosters anyway)
 
Different topic, but I thought it was very ordinary yesterday that the men’s and women’s games were being televised at the same time and parramatta was playing in both. That’s never going to help build the game. I don’t think they should be playing at the same time but certainly not the same club in both fixtures

Their schedule is a mess and in need of a serious overhaul
 
What’s the solution though? It’s always going to take a back seat to the men’s comp and there’s only so many time slots available over a weekend. Not going to get any easier with new teams/games being added either. Agree that there shouldn’t be clubs overlapping their own games, that was dumb but it’s not a regular occurrence.
 
I know there are issues with the women being semi-professional. I'm just wondering if they could play a match on Thursday as a lead-in to the NRL match. And maybe a doubleheader on Sunday night at 6 and 8, given the men usually play at 2 and 4?
 
The season shouldn’t start with Origin for starters, that’s ridiculous. The only reason it’s done that way is so the Grand Finals are on the same day, I don’t think there’s any need for that, let them have their win stand-alone GF.

Start the season a bit earlier than the men’s, late Feb - early March (all late arvo & evening games) no 11.30 am sat games. Once the men’s comp starts, they’ll have to adjust some time-slots. There will still be overlap but at least it will be it’s own thing and have some time when nothing else is on TV to compete with.

Push the Women’s Origin back to have after the season’s finished in July. That way teams are picked on performances during the year rather than before a ball is even kicked or they’ve even started pre-season.

The women’s comp shouldn’t expand for at least a few more years. I think they need to switch to full-time before that happens again

Get your point prime time slots are already filled. Fox has multiple channels ideally I’d like to watch the nsw cup nrlw and the nrl knights in one arvo after each other. A few years ago we would get the knights nrlw and the nrl back to back that was awesome and tbh that’s what really drew me to watching the nrlw. I need one time slot per weekend and I could lock it in and be happy.
 
I'm not sure how fronting the Judiciary affects it; maybe it takes away the early plea option? But for a dangerous throw, "Grade 3: 5 matches suspension or 4 matches with an early plea."

Can't see how she can get it downgraded; Brigginshaw should at least be rubbed out for 4 weeks. I would have thought that was light considering.

It kinda sounds light but given the length of their season it is equivalent to 9-10 weeks for a nrl player.
 
Prior offences is what hurt Predebon but three games for Brigginshaw is hard to cop in any case. Kennedy Cherrington dropped Laishon Albert-Jones on her head a few years back and got four games when the season was even shorter.

I would argue the “make the suspension relative to the season length” argument should go out the window on a play as recklessly dangerous as that.
