The Storm are the perfect example of how a lack of forwards effects the outcome in V'Landys ball 26'. They've got the best coach, best spine and cant win a game.

We're in a similar position with our forwards. Without Friz and Lucas, arguably much worse, actually. Coming up against the Roosters, with arguably one of the best forward packs in the comp (on paper at least), can't see how this isnt a comprehensive defeat.

I think we can get them but we'll need big carries from the OB's and then we'll need to use our forwards mobility to target Walker and DCE defensively. We shouldn't be afraid to shift the ball but it has to be done quickly. I'd compress the defensive line and make them go around us, give them some incentive to shift the ball and move away from the power they have in the middle.
 
Forwards really need to aim up and show a bit of ticker, tigers last week rolled us way to early.

We need line speed in our D and good first up contact.

The Broncos were able to do it last night. They lost Haas after 30 mins. We're already without Walsh, Hunt, Carrigan, Walters, Paix etc. Even lost Arthur's during the game.

And the Broncos were able to match it with the Tigers where we were physically dominated the week previous. What's that? And why can't we do it?

The Broncos didn’t match it with them. They had a very good last ten minutes closing it out when they showed some champion qualities and the Tigers all of a sudden had pressure on them to quickly chase points & lost all composure. Other than that the Tigers thoroughly dominated and had enough good ball to win by 20. Idiots will blame those poor Makasini errors for the loss, but the real explanation is that Adam Reynolds is awesome and Jarome Luai sucks.

I’m sincerely not convinced Luai is a better player in attack than Jack Cogger. I am racking my brain to come up with something Luai does better on a footy field than Cogger besides tackle and yell.

I actually thought about that Harv, what if Madden is better than Luai? Well for the team make up anyway. I’m not sure when Madden come on the field, and did Douehi switch positions.

Weird situation if they start losing games. If Madden played that whole game and Douehi whole game in 7 they win that?

You could argue same with Warriors, when Metcalf come in, they lost, now he is out again they look better.
 
But seriously, the debate the Tigers might need to be having right now is Luai v Madden. Luai made his name marshalling a left edge at Penrith that at one point contained Kikau, Crichton and To'o. His choices were give them early ball or skip off your left foot and run it yourself. They weren't the makings of an elite playmaker.

80% of Luai’s career line breaks have involved a defender literally collapsing to the ground from exhaustion to open the hole for him. (Real stat)
 
Just want a good hard team effort, could be a close win for us or beaten by double figures+.
Hope Brown gets through the game ok and can’t wait to get Ponga, Best and Lucas back but first we have the Roosters and then at least a few weeks, a win or two over the next month would be great.
Upsets are keeping us in touch with the pack, top 8

It’s probably better for the comp as a whole, if Metcalfe and Madden (Not Luai only because I’m assuming the Tigers won’t punt him as he helped get others onboard) get gigs at the Dragons, Bears or Titans. There’s talent available, it just needs to be distributed a bit better.

I think it also goes to show how long it can take Halfbacks in particular, to become genuine first graders. It’s obviously a very hard job and these guys need coaches who will back them and be patient with them. That’s now Boyd, Madden, Metcalfe, Clifford, Smith and Savala who’ve all come along in the last year or two and shown they’re capable

There doesn’t appear to be so much a lack of talent but maybe coaches are just to quick to give up on guys or theres not enough good coaches
