We're allowed to disagree. I hope he turns into a good first grade forward but I can't see any material progress from his opening games until now. Which is concerning to me considering his age.
I like what he brings as a footballer. He has footy in him and is pretty smart and high energy on field.
I was at the game last week sitting ten metres out from the try line watching our left side defence get mauled from touching distance. It was one of those games where once it was over I just wanted to move on quickly. I haven't read the game thread on here and haven't watched the replay, so these comments are from what I watched live.
What I wanted to say was I hope the club rallies around Wilson De Courcey really well. I believe we have a really good prospect there and more importantly he is a young kid he doesn't need to be defined by that half of footy for the next ten years where ever life takes him.
He had played well enough in reggies this year to deserve a call up when an opportunity arose and got his shot. Something had to change on that left edge at half time last week. Maybe it is better for his development that he was removed for the second half but I hope he wasn't left to be the fall guy. His much more experienced winger made his life way too difficult for any young centre to handle. If anything, it showed just how much Braddy covers for Marz week to week. I watched as time and again Marz shot up in to no man's land in defence, literally past the ball and made Douhei's mind up for him of where the ball should go. What WDC was supposed to do to cover his winger at this stage in his career i have no idea. He did miss Bula for the last try before half time. Plenty of defenders will miss that guy. But even then, Marz finally marked his winger and refused to come in when Bula only had the narrowest of gaps to sneak through.
Wilson gets back on the horse in reggies today. I hope he smashes it. I hope Holbrook and the club have been able to put their arms around him this week and make him feel worthy. I hear he copped some crap on socials after the game last week. I hope all that was put in perspective for him.
I say this not because of what Tom Jenkins is doing now but because i feel sorry for Tom for what he went through here. He is obviously a capable footballer. I feel the previous regime and the club failed that bloke and he deserved better. I hope Wilson gets better treatment. I hope Wilson gets another crack soon.

Yeah, i felt for them too. I don't know if the club does it because I've seen it with other players, but there was about a dozen of them with WDC t-shirts on. Something the club does well i guess.
