I have a theory that it’s Lui and his talk that Penrith are missing in defence, that’s why the Panthers defence has been ordinary this year

His defence could well be a factor in Penrith's decline, along with losing JFH. He was a massive part of working over and fatiguing opposition middles, skipping back inside from the left as well. They have gone away from that so far this year.

I think they’ve lost a bit of hunger too. Not surprising at all after 4 wins on the trot.

Luai played on the left. The biggest issue has been Tago on the right. It was an issue last season as well but he is getting exposed a lot more this year.
 
Milky needs to work on his defence if he wants to fill in as a centre.

I have moved on from what happened with at the Knights. The above is just fair criticism.

I just want to see us hold onto the ball this week, and show more in attack. I understand we were down on troops and gassed last week, but it's so sad seeing a team with Ponga, Sharpe and "arguably" one of the best backlines in the comp be so boring in attack.
 
Interested to see how we go with Crossland at 7. Kind of know what you’re gonna get with him. Solid defence, good work rate, decent long kick if needed.

Will be interested to see where our kicks come from.

Ponga doing a lot more general play kicking - don’t love it, don’t mind it out of our own end, but part of our problem is that he is doing too much already. I’m okay with him helping out or offering a big kick if needed, but think he’s far more dangerous as a running threat and even as a playmaker.

If I’m a defender - I’m much more concerned if Ponga is lined up as a 4th/last tackle run option with some shape, than if he’s at first receiver about to put a kick through.

Will be good to see what Arthur can do as well.


happy for us to be patient. Need to work on our completions and the points will come.

If you’re talking about him taking all the yardage kicks I completely agree. In the attacking zone though I like him playing some first receiver. He was playing a lot of first receiver in our first two games and our attack looked a lot better but in the last 2 we seem to have thrown that out the window and he’s not getting any ball.
