NRL Round 23 - Knights V Tigers - 4:05pm Sunday 11 August - McDonald Jones Stadium

Don’t want Jenkins anywhere near FG. Keep Lucas in the centres and replace J Saf with Sua.
Tuala shouldn’t be far off? Wasn’t he out of 4 to 6 weeks? It’s been about that long since he got hurt.
I get your dislike for Jenkins. But our season is over and he is signed for next year.
Does it hurt to give him at least one game in his preferred position of right centre to see his worth?

We’ve got a right centre who’s 10 times the player he is and a guy playing out of his best position who’s also a significantly better centre. I’d be more inclined to give McCarthy a game than Jenkins.

I don't mind that option. I don't know anything about McCarthy but I think Lucas's best position going forward is left backrower.
Play him there

Play McCarthy and we will have more panic attacks then with maps. Terrible defensively.
Just have to watch CUP highlights from weekend and you'll see he is absolutely no where near deserving of a FG debut off his defence. Good attack, got potential, but not this yr.

It's a triple header game and Knights start as strong favourites in all games.

Reserve grade 8th placed knights v last placed Magpies
First grade 12th placed Knights v 17th placed Tigers
NRLW 3rd placed Knights v 8th placed Dragons

No preseason & playing our one out forward orientated style ? I'm sure he is feeling it . Not the style he would have been playing in Superleague . Like Ponga , put him in a decent team & he would be a superstar
I’m hopeful everyone goes back to the drawing board in the offseason and they review absolutely everything. Besides a couple of good fullbacks on debut I’ve not seen much to be hopeful about.

Best is developing into one of the vest centres in the game.

Lucas is developing into a quality second rower.

We have a group of talented juniors coming through the grades.

There's no point in giving Jenkins a run even though he's on our books next year, he's only had a handful of games where he's been up to standard in reggies let alone firsts.

Looking ahead to next season we'll have Schiller as an extra first-grade capable outside back on the depth chart, either he or Tuala will be first drop in case of injury. McCarthy will have an extra pre-season under his belt, Sharpe IMO demonstrated that he can play wing in firsts on the weekend, Aoake has already had a couple of Cup games of experience now, De Courcey will push for a Cup spot as well next year. Jenkins likely won't be in calculations barring a catastrophic injury toll.

On the other hand Lucas will definitely play centre at some point next season simply through mid-game injuries/HIAs to the outside backs, for that reason it is valuable for us to keep him in touch with covering the position. Lucas has definitely been beaten for pace a bunch of times but has also scrambled quite well at the same time, it's not ideal but the Tigers centre matchup isn't too bad this week.

Jenkins has been one of our better players in reserves as we have clawed our way into the 8 over the last month or so.
Not saying he looks like a firstgrader, but he's about the best we have unless Armstrong is finally ready next week, which he may be because he was a late withdrawal this week.

AOB has only made one change to squad to face the Tigers. Brodie Jones replaces J Saf due to his calf injury.

Can easily see changes within that squad, Cogger to 7, Crosslands 9, Brailey 14, Su’a in for Hetherington but we won’t know until game time
